  1. That's awesome. I've got a PredatAR that I've been toying with the idea of painting Patriot Brown because it seemed to me most like the color I did to my Mk18 looking gun a few years back. But I was hesitant due to the paint looking like poo in some lighting conditions. But that upper looks fantastic!
  2. It's a real one that's been modified a little. (basically the back side behind the paddle is filed down a bit).
  3. No. It's a real Carbon. I bought it wayyyyy before the Base Jumps were announced. I'm still waiting for my Ballistic to come in. Ops-Core has been crazy back ordered. I've been waiting around 6 months now. I need it for some of the live fire shoot house courses I take. Currently using a MICH 2001 for those till the Ballistic comes in.
  4. Pic of me from a recent CQB class taught by former Tier 1 operator, using my LM4:
  5. A recent pic of me at a CQB training event taught by former Tier 1 operator.
  6. Again, I would post this question on their forums.
  7. Brigg, have you taken this issue to their KWA forums? Their techs see every conceivable issue and are active in helping people resolve issues with their guns.
  8. On that particular Midwest Industries rail, it has threaded holes all along the rail for mounting Midwest Ind. picatinny rail sections. I simply took a LaRue handstop, trimmed off the excess material that would normally prevent it from sitting flush against the rail, drilled a hole through the handstop and used one of the included pic rail section screws to affix the handstop in place. I also did this to my other LM4 with the VTAC Alpha Rail. but for that one I did need to use a Troy pic rail section backer (included with the rail) to bolt it in place. Titleist wrote a great tutorial on
  9. I definitely prefer the OEM slide catch over the regular slide catch. You may also want to consider trying the Vickers/TangoDown extended slide catch. Works great, has more meat to manipulate, and looks nice.
  10. It should be a Marui G17 rear sight. Regardless of model all the marui GBB Glocks use the rear sight to lock in the BBU.
  11. I *think* the G34 outer barrel should be okay with a 1911 length inner barrel.
  12. I agree with Leon. Take the brown you used for the darker color and dust the entire thing very lightly with it. That tan is VERY light.
  13. If you get really desperate, you could buy an MP5 Steel Flashhider. Some of them (like the one from King Arms) come with a 14mm CCW thread protector. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/king-arms-steel-flash-hider-for-mp5-a4-a5.html Not the cheapest option, but it'll work. I pulled the one I had on an MP5, trimmed it down a bit and installed it on one of my Glocks.
  14. Either way, I usually have to remove the background to clean up. Doesn't bother me to do it really. I find it kind of therapeutic.
  15. It's an actual pic. I take the pics in the alley outside my garage against a wall and then remove the background digitally in photoshop. It's pretty easy. Just takes a bit of time to get a clean result.
  16. Why wouldn't the LM4 accomodate a CA barrel mounted M203? Not a fan of rail mounted M203's myself.
  17. Jump to timecode 1:30 in this video to see the gun with laser in use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHWvy6rEDfo&list=PLuFas0M4aXSSjfi3A79er6Bu1FqwHf8U4&index=1&feature=plpp_video Configured as is, it works, but could be better. I later moved the laser to the front of the rail and have used it in that way since. (Quick note about the video: It was a CQB Team Tactics Course taught by Tyler Grey, recently retired US Forces Tier 1 Operator. The Course was tailored specifically for RS shooters. Student demographics: LE/MIL personnel, former PSD contractors, and RS shooting ent
  18. Correct. It's the Midwest Industries 12" Gen 2 SS-Series Freefloat. I really like it. It's super low profile, slim/skinny (feels thinner than the Troy/VTAC rails), easy to install and relatively inexpensive (compared to other RS rails). ETA: link ^^.
  19. I guess it is. The KWA OEM extension is around 5" which I always thought was odd since it starts right where a carbine's triangle fixed front sight ends. I was always under the impression that removing the OEM extension would give you a 10.5" barrel but obviously that wouldn't be the case if the OEM extension is 5" long.
  20. I like the look of the laser at the rear, however in that position I was seeing a lot of splash from the laser on the rail and as you pointed out, my hand would block it if I changed shoulders. My support hand would also block the IR laser and I'd see even more obvious splash on the rail when using NODs. This is definitely where rail real estate can be an issue. A rail too short (like a carbine rail) makes placement very limited.
  21. The barrel is actually the factory barrel with the front barrel extension removed and it is replaced by two Madbull 2" CCW barrel extensions (4" cumulative). Basically reduced overall length by 1" and changed the look of the barrel profile.
  22. Yup. I just pull it off my real AR whenever I need it. For CQB it's insanely fast both when using it's visible laser or when I'm running the IR with my NODs.
