  1. I really do not wish to double post on this topic, but Evike just got this rifle in stock for $250 (US) and I am chomping-at-the-bit to pick this thing up... can anyone elaborate more on their experiences with this new platform? KJW M4

I love the KJW M4 (do not own one anymore), and I always loved the gif KJW userbar that has been used for years. At another forum there was a member offering to make some cool userbars for use in forum signatures, so I had him create me a new KJW M4 "RELIABILITY INSIDE" userbar. So if you are a KJW M4 fan and wanted a first or second userbar to add to your signature, then "here's your sign..." Note that "Pillsbury" at the Airsoft Sniper Forum is the creator of the design.
  3. I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this rifle here in the States... I hope that WE gets the kinks worked out before any vendor takes up stock.
  4. So does that mean the KJW M4 still rulez the reliabity roost?
  5. Review Continued... Internal Build I will not open the rifle until the warranty has expired (30-days). Until then, I can report that the rifle is sporting a measured 6.03 tight bore barrel. Although measuring the internal diameter of the barrel at one end with a digital caliper is not all conclusive, it is encouraging. The trigger group is very basic in function, and is single stage with a very light pull. The trigger group and components are all metal, and appears to be non-tunable. Although not necessary, the trigger could really benefit from a two stage configuration. Th
  6. Review Continued... Performance The G&G G96 is advertised to shoot 150 to 160 m/sec (492- 528 fps) with .20g bb’s. However, I have chronograph readings that point to much higher than advertised performance numbers. First shot from a fresh magazine, my chronograph read 659 fps (200.8 m/sec) for .20g bb’s. As you view the linked videos, you will see very high numbers recorded from 5-different weight bb’s. Also take note of average readings, which are all given in fps, to include extreme spreads. The extreme spreads show vast inconsistencies evidenced from the use of propane gas. Al
  7. Review Continued... Included Included in the box is one 17-round magazine, two different sized Allen wrenches for stock installation, a small removable bipod mount, an un-jamming rod and an owner’s manual. External Fit and Finish The gun uses a nylon fiber plastic stock mounted to an AL 6061aluminum frame, which closely mimics the real L96A1. The stock is smooth, except for the flashing detail described earlier. The stock is also ambidextrous and fits quite comfortably, even when lacking some adjustability. Compared to many L96 platforms, both gas and spring operated, the

  9. I took my M16A3 and chrono'd it yesterday. There was planty of facts to consider, as well as notable issues. Here is video of the chrono test session: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS72b37u3UI&feature=channel_video_title ...and here is a short video of a concern I have with the bolt carrier group: http://youtu.be/PXLmF8kGju0 Can I please get some feedback on the BCG concern?
  10. As my M16A3 is out for delivery today, I am trying to think of everything I need to do first before I start loading and shooting; I have read many different variants of maintenance methods for the various WE platforms, and although the methods use different brands or lubes and cleaners, they all seem to follow a basic principle...maintain, maintain and maintain. Do any of you have a link to a tried and true maintenance procedure that is known to be an excellent care guide for WE gas blow backs? I'm looking forward to disecting every piece and cleaning and lubing it all back together...
  11. No, this did not answer his question, it was useless... This response directly answered his question...
  12. Thanks Reppyboyo I went ahead and ordered the rifle and 4-spare mags. Evike had a coupon code for 18% off my order, which indicated to me that the choice to order was almost to good to be true...so I hit the send button. I won't get the rifle till sometime next week, so now the waiting...
  13. I'm about to be a WE convert, and I'm looking at the M16A3. From what I can tell, much of the 'major' malfunctions of the we M4 line have been addressed with the release of the open bolt design (v3), which is what Evike is peddling here Stateside. Tell me, is the fun factor starting to surpass the money spent on these platforms? I do not need another safe queen or a failure prone rifle... I have placed that rifle in my 'cart' so many times... even placed all of the CC info, but I keep backing out to do more research.

Something I had been wanting to do for a long time, is run my KJW M4 through a Chrony machine. I know that when my velocity reducer gets here, the Chrony will come in quite handy. We had a day with warmer weather (68 degrees), so I loaded up my M4 for a quick round of testing. I loaded the magazine with 8-rounds each of .2, .25 and .3 gram bb's. Here is video of the results. Interesting that the rifle's fps starts hot on the 1st shot, and then begins to trail off with each additional shot (as expected). It is also quite apparent when the bb's transition from each previous weight. htt

    KJW M4

Since I sold my KJW M4, I have owned a W.E. M14 which I sold to get a W.E. SCAR, which I sold to get rid of a headache...actually, the SCAR was very nice, it was just starting to fatgue. Anyways, I regret ever selling my KJW, so for Christmas, I bought another one. My daughter shot video of the first 30 rounds of what I am sure will be many more rounds to come. We have all seen it before, as most of us own one... but I was happy to be firing one again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63zVQviXaV0

Strange, I tried to link Raven1's post on reply #300, and the link started everything from post #301...(?) So find post #300 on page 15, and you can see the Classic Army mounted to Raven1's KJW M4... sorry about that, I should do a better job of proofing my replies.

    KJW M4

Looks like Raven1 was able to mount a Classic Army style ready mag, see this post: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=171349&view=findpost&p=2177673
  21. Send it back to whom ever you purchased it from and get a replacement (assuming you purchased new).

Saw a video of a KJW owner who made a Magpul ASAP plate work, I may look into that when my M4 arrives.

By any chance, would the current M4 come with a rear sling mount at the buffer tube like it's CQB version?
