  1. With the M120 in it I dont really want to try an 8.4v I know it'll turn it, but I dont want to ruin my Cables or my Motor. Last time I tried that I blew the fuse (which I replaced promptly with a higher quality one) I dont think it would be horrid. I didnt lose any BB's per second when I Upgraded to the 9.6v Battery, infact I think i Actually went up. I'll see next time I get it chronoed
  2. News from the Upgrade Table: It looks like fixing the shimming worked. My beauty shot through 200 rounds today as apposed to the 50 yesterday. I ran out of bb's to shoot some more. Airsoftbum The gears and upgrade parts that I used were all Guarder (nixing the spring and gear greese) and they have held up through all my rounds. The Standard Guarder Piston is showing no wear yet, the Gears are in fantastic condition and my bearings likewise. Guarder makes amazing parts, When the tune up kit comes out the same basic parts will be in the package so I'll already have it Good qualit
  3. Mixed news from the Update table: The Good: Everythings in everything worked, err sorta (see below) i have yet to install the new hop up bucking, but i'm waiting to see how the upgraded spring and current hop will work together with my heavier bb's. The Bad: I should have figured this but it would appear my Motor is over heating, my wires are getting warm, and my battery IS warm. The Problem: Bad shimming, Stock TM Nylon bushings dont "flow" into the gearbox like the Guarder bearings did (I thought this was weird but I didnt want to "tap them in" as this might deform my gear
  4. Thanks for the clarification! I'm not seeing this as a problem unless it settles off a signifigant amount (say 35fps...) If it is then I guess I'll have to order another spring from somewhere else
  5. I see, could you elaborate on what exactly is going to happen to it??? does it lose power quickly? snap in half? spontaneously combust? Unfortunately, I'm even more confused, I understand the risks of bearings, and I wanted metal bushings, but they will be fine with the M120? The piston chosen will work in it, but how long will it last with my spring? I guess it being 3:30 AM doesnt help either!
  6. Well, its a wee late now, but for future refrence, awesome. The Systema Spring is rated at our field limit, (some number [200] multiplied by 2) so if it cools down from there thats 100% fine by me, I'd rather be shooting under the limit then over or at the limit. If by "hot" you mean it suxors then I guess I'm SOL for now. A weaker spring might be easier on the non reinforced piston
  7. On a full length M14 it would serve no purpose for many reasons: 1.) Flashlights are close in usage unless you have the Sun Spot Flashlight, and we all know how a 44.5 inch long gun fairs in CQB 2.) EOTECH Mounts arnt hard to comeby to mount it forward w/out all the RIS/RAS, redwolf has them, they sit just foward of the Bolt and require a new upperhand guard (Ohh shucks) and this configuration on a full M14 looks ridiculous 3.) A Bipod? Are you Serious? Harris Bipods attach directly to the M14 w/out RIS/RAS so why would you want any other one? (Ohh kay, I can see the E2 Bipods but anyth
  8. They ARE very nice pictures It doesnt hurt to see them again I do believe he painted it himself, but I'll let him answer it On a more positive note, I've finally decided to upgrade my gun to a more american standard for AEG's Parts will be here later this week I hope i dont mess anything up 0.o Disassembly guide is bookmarked! /Pray!
  9. Erm? Any update? Curious to know how it all went. The other STTI review was good too but I want to hear it from a wide variety of peoples perspectives! This gun is on the list as a project gun soon, but as usuall Money is short Update us!!:!:!!!
  10. Seconded! One little niggle is that the OD on the scope looks to be too light but thats completely negligable Good job Done anything internally to it?
  11. I would say that seems like a good deal. Its hard for me to judge what that would be in American Dollars, but its rougly double, and brand new that'd cost you, (350+40+22x4) 580 USD which is roughly 290 GBP thats w/out shipping so yes that is a good deal
  12. That royally sucks, you better make sure he's paying for the broken parts
  13. Awesome, thats good to know, I might be reconsidering, I just read a guys article on upgrade recomendations for any gun, and since i"m not sure if i want to go higher then an M100 I think the metal oiless bushings will be the better option. =) Titlist The message was sent to R22 this past weekend. Its up to him to decide if he wants it to be or not. My impression is that although the M14 Brotherhood isnt exactly a team such as the 462nd (Local group) it is still a team of people with a common intrest. We did have several M14 brotherhood members present at one skirmish (although I n
  14. Yeah I realize that this thread does that but for a picture thread it isnt doing its job very well The thread isnt necessarily for just the M14, its for The M14 Brotherhood. Since not all owners of M14's are in the Brotherhood its more of a recreational forum area where we can talk M14 w/out cluttering up this picture thread. It would be open to the public but at least the threads would clutter up that area rather than this picture thread.
  15. I'm thinking an entire gearbox remake, Guarder makes v7 gears would these fit normally in the hole? or would I have to lathe em down as well? THe internal make over would be: Bushings Shimming (as would be needed) Gears Hop up Rubber Piston Piston Head Spring (This concerns me,I dont want it to push over US limits) Spring Guide Basically the entire gearbox short of the gearbox itself I'm sure I'm missing alot of stuff that is needed. Fill in on what else i'd probably need. In Other News: The M14 Brotherhood might be getting our own team forum if R22 will allow
  16. Ahh should be pretty good then. I guess I'm a little spoiled, our group has a Chrono that has both ROF and FPS on it As soon as I get money I plan to open my bad boy up and get some newer internals thrown in it new spring to get me some distance with .23's. The gun one day may becoming a single only Sniper but that will come when some more money comes in Just outa curiosity has anyone tried 6mm bearings in their v7 gearbox?
  17. Sweet What brand of internal upgrades did you use? Also test your ROF so we can see the hell that comes from the end of that gun I'm looking to soon upgrade my TM M14 (might not be for another month but I'm certainly looking to beef it up! )
  18. Maybe thats god's way of saying he HATES EBRs. =) Wish I would have read that earlier EBR Bashing 4 teh win! seriously though guys looks nice Although the desert colors on the EBR look a wee outa wack its still sweet lookin!
  19. Guarder makes V7 gearbox parts, in particular reinforced gears, cylinders, spring guides, etc... i'd suggest checking their site or some merchant sites for them. I've heard no complaints so far about the guarder stuff, but then again I dont know anyone locally who's upgraded their M14
  20. Question of the Week for Mauri M14 Owners! Has anyone tried using the real operating rod from a Real M14 in their Mauri? It looks like its the same part =) See Me I unfortunately dont have a real M14 to fiddle around with but if anyone does have a real one maybe this is something you should look at and see
  21. Alrighty! Some pictures finally! (i'm in there in the far far left up near the top ) Pictures taken by "The Enforcer" at Airsoft Iowa Some good pictures The one with the hicapa was an awkward position, kinda hurt after a while, but my M14 mags were acting up (had to change bb's) and my Hicapa was on the last 13 shots when they rushed us... was "interesting" to say the least!
  22. I could totaly go for some M14 on M14 action... err wait! So, when M14's have children, do they first have M1 Carbines? Then later they grow up to M14's? Or maybe you wanted a picture of an M14's Action... erm I can see if I find some
  23. Gear, Gun, Mags, Cammo: $1200, Registration Fee: $50, Spending an entire weekend soaking wet: Priceless Give me about 5 days or so and I'll have some more pictures of me and my lovely beast in action, I had a camera man follow me around all during Operation Broken Allegience (Sadly we left early because it had been pouring down rain since the day b4, and nonstop.) We never did get the pic with all the M14 brotherhood guys but ohh well! Can't please everyone!
  24. I'm gonna post this here rather then in general: All M14 Brotherhood Members who are attending Operation Broken Allegience this weekend in Iowa, we need to get together and get some photo's taken of our 1337 h4x0r guns and gear. I'll be there friday night, just look for the group with a bald guy cookin or shout out "Whiskey! Whiskey! Where are you!" and I'll respond. (I'm known as Whiskey in the local groups) Hopefully we'll be able to get some decent photo's. (I suppose you could look for the fool wearing the black delta helmet too ) Full M14 > Then all others!
  25. And why would you want an EOTech? Real aimpoints cost a fraction of an EOTech
