R-KivE
I have my first skirmish in about a weeks time. I recently bought a JG M4A1 V2 2008, and need to know the rough FPS. The max fps for the skirmish will be 350 +/- 5% Will my gun make the requirement? If not what can I do to make it?
Abelius
Mine did 400+ fps.
R-KivE
Ok, Is there any way I can make is under 350fps?
Abelius
Pretty much just by changing the spring. The 400fps spring will also beat the hell out of the non-reinforced gearbox shell pretty fast, it it's let inside. Some people cut spring coils away, but I believe the spring would become too short when cut, in this case.
Andrew March
First, get it chrono'd, if it consistently goes over the 350 then get a less powerfull spring, a 100 or 90 should do you fine.
tinydata
400 fps sounds about right for the newer JGs take it into an airsoft store and have them clean up the gearbox and swap the stock spring for a lower powered one
