Wutang
So I ordered a JP Rifles metal body kit and installed it onto my gun that was previously shooting at near 400 fps. After the installation, I tested the fps using a coke can and noticed that it couldn't even penetrate one side of the can. I've tried reinstalling the metal body many times with the same results. I installed the gearbox and the hop up unit/barrel into a G&P metal body and it runs fine at the correct velocity, so it's not an issue with any internal parts. I can only conclude that the JP Rifles MBK is misaligning the gearbox and hop up unit in some way that prevents a good airseal. Does anyone have any other ideas? If not, then how do I dremel the inside of the body correctly so that the parts will fit? Thanks a lot everyone.
tosuzu
Crazy thought. Does your hop-up unit still have the spring on top that presses it against the gearbox?
Wutang
Yup, I actually tested out two different springs from different units.
johnnyj
have you used the upper from the g&p with the jp lower ? or is the jp body a ca type ?
Wutang
The JP upper is only compatible with it's counterpart lower receiver or older type CA lowers.
r12la
Open the cover so you can see the hop adjuster, then pull the hop unit back or push it forward to see if it makes a difference when firing might help see if its hop/nozzle alignment issue.
Wutang
Thanks, problem has been solved. It turns out that the gas tube was too long and was knocking the hop up unit off of alignment. After a short dremelling job, everything works fine.
