Tinkerton
hullo peeps. after some pondering on the subject of *airsoft shotguns aren't shotguns*, i have come up with a crazy, but realistic and workable idea! take: 2x 500mm length of 41mm steel/plastic tube/pipe 1x modified shotgun stock 1x trigger mechanism 2x 40mm moscart. now, i think we have all established that the moscart stle 'grenades' are actually more like shotgun shells, so, use the 'grenades' AS a shotgun shell. double barreled shotguns can only take two at a time, so tha remove the whole ejecting thing, and also have a very simple mechanism, none of this pump action lark. how hard would it be to modify a shotgun stock, and bodge up barrels and trigger mechs to make a double barreled Moscart launcher, in the style of a doubled barreled shotgun? would it be stupid? would it look damned cool? would it fail on me? would it be expensive (excluding the shells and ammo and gas etc etc)? please note, all above ideas are MINE! please consult me before using them and/or/ trying to build a shotgun such as that described! (it is my little baby of a project, i wouldnt want someone with more money and time to come and steal it) thanks dave
Jedigreedo
Don't you think 40mm is a bit too big for a shotgun, especially a double barrel one? Why not the 27mm instead? Then, you could just take the PEQ2 launcher and plop the internals right into a custom body.
Tinkerton
yeah, i do think that the 40mm moscarts are a bit big, but i wasnt aware of anything smaller. got a linkfor the 27mm ones?
Corporate_Black_Ops
Or you could go for a Maruzen Shotshell version... The airsoft shotguns that are shotguns. I did consider the possibility of using mini mosscarts early on but given the added hassle, expense...etc I decided against it.
BakaBox
I have been thinking about making a "side by side" or "over and under" shotgun by using those 27mm moscarts myself. Good to see that somebody made a thread about this. Edit: Problem is, all shotguns that I know of got a barrel diameter of under 2cm...
John Romero's Head
It would look like some ridiculous cartoon shotgun, but it would be kind of funny. Of course, it would be functionally almost identical to an M79, so you may as well just get one of those.
Bert
making a double-barreled grenade launcher in the style of the sawed-off M79 would be cooler. edit: if you're going to use 40mm shells that is! a double-barreled shotgun using maruzen shotshells would be pretty cool aswell. Tinkerton
dont the maruzen shells need an external gas supply though? that was the main reason for the moscarts, everytihng is internal, you only need a trigger mech.

Evil Knevil
i was thinking about the same idea of using the moscarts but with five barrels that fire simultaneously with one pull of a trigger as the firing pin splits into the different barrels unleashing over 800 rounds in one shot!!! OVERKILL!! will in summer holidays try and make it so probs post pics. (wooops slightly off topic) Big dave go with ur originl idea of moscarts and use hefty 165rnd showers!!! would look and be totally awesome in battle!
XenoBait
Maybe I'm weird, but I'm quite entertained by the idea of a comically oversized shotgun. and hardly a relistic imitation either... hmmmm *grabs paper, pencil and 45mm drainpipes....*
Pyro
The 27mm peq launcher is at wgc under launchers in other guns.
Tinkerton
after looking at a mini tiny one, i think they are too small. im agreeing with XenoBait, comically sized multi death! hardest bit would be the trigger mech.
Pyro
36 rounds at once isn't enough for you? that'll be more than enough for the shot gun effect.
Evil Knevil
try using one of those sealant guns as i have seen it done before (my inspiration) so try and evolve it round that as its cheap and fairly easy to work round. what size is best used for holding the moscarts in a pipe too? Tinkerton
36 rounds at once isn't enough for you? that'll be more than enough for the shot gun effect. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i mean the actual shells are too small, i'd loose them. plus with the 40mm ones i have a wider choice of shells, MOSCARTs, CAW, King Arms, Mad Bull etc etc
badkarma1354
I have considered making the pistol grenade launcher from killzone using the grenade shells. But I was wondering were I could get a trigger assembly that would work. Also if anyone has a link to a diagram of the airsoft grenade launchers that would be nice.
Tinkerton
you can buy grenade pistol thiongys on WGC, again, under other guns
Soloman
Yeah i was thinking of doing somthing like this, but it being a single-shot flare gun, or a revolver but it only takes one bullet- moscart [edit] Like the EKP Kampt Drachen Grenate Pistole
