Pkekyo-Nor
After having been through a few ACM Aimpoint Magnifier replicas and having tested the odd brand-name one, I now turn to your wisdom. I'm looking for optical clarity, good eye relief and the twist-off mount, thus far I haven't found one featuring all three... So, which one should I buy next?
Stealth12
It really is a case of the more you pay, the better the peice of kit, a rule which (generally) can be applied to all airsoft stuff
Ballistic Tsunami Airsoft
The best eye relief and clarity i've seen is the 4x big bulky eotech magnifier... BUT its got a FTS mount. I own one. Here's my review on it. Ballistic Tsunami Eotech 4x Magnifier w/ FTS Mount Replica Long Term Review I can see why you'd want a twist off mount. I haven't found any FTS mounts that hold zero.
Leon Kennedy
Personally, I have this and love it...good eye relief and clarity which were important for me. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/ea-3x-magnifier-w-30mm-qd-flip-to-side-mount-301-pineapple.html

I've seen these before. Does your mount hold zero well?
Leon Kennedy
Well, honestly I'm not sure what you mean...my Aimpoint holds well and I know to aim where the dot is. In general, my dot is pretty close to the center of the magnifier but unless I'm missing something I can't adjust the magnifier itself. It does sit a bit higher than the Aimpoint M2 on a cantilever mount but not a whole lot. I think it's made to sit even with a Eotech 553.

A tech at the store I bought it at showed me. Yea no instructions came with my magnifier. Anyways, my magnifier does not hold zero though. The mount sucks. I'm glad yours mount seems pretty good. How long have you had it? How many skirmishes have you run it in?
Leon Kennedy
Oh jeez, not long honestly, only went through about 8 hours of games but I'm a pretty fast-mover so it got rocked around a good deal and did well.
Pkekyo-Nor
Thanks for the advice, but it's not the kind of magnifier I'm looking for. Guess I'll have to suck it up and buy a real one instead...

Pkekyo-Nor
I believe the correct term is completely financially irresponsible, but allright I figure it's no point wasting the potential of a real Comp4 if I can't find a magnifier that will work properly with it and look the part... Ballistic Tsunami Airsoft
lol
Leon Kennedy
I think the potential of a real Comp M4 is wasted due to the fact that you're putting it on a toy. Either way, let us know what you get and tell us what you think once you get to play with it!
ctres94
Have you thought of getting a good quality replica optic and just putting it on the rs mount?
Pkekyo-Nor
That was my initial plan, but the only replicas people have been able to actually recommend are EOTech-style magnifiers - therein lies my problem.
Leon Kennedy
Whats the difference? I don't know.
Pkekyo-Nor
Looks. This is what I'm looking for:
Leon Kennedy
Oh, sorry, you mean a replica of the model produced by Aimpoint. Thought you implied one made specifically for one and not the other...AFAIK most airsoft replicas don't differ much. I've seen some on eBay that are twist off but I don't know quality-wise how they are.
Pkekyo-Nor
Well *fruitcage* me sideways... Some *bramston pickle* just had to give me an amazing offer, so I ended up buying the real thing I will be sure to provide pictures and detailed information once it arrives.
