Corrigan
Hey. Does someone own a 777 and any type of MBITR shell? Would the 777 fit inside, with heavy modification? Could any owners of just the MBITR shell take measurements of the height, width and length of the insides for me? Thanks!
Andrew March
Definately not, the puxing is significantly larger than the Motorola talkabout which the MBITR was built to fit.
Corrigan
Sure, but by 'heavy modification' I mean removing bits of walls etc. Maybe even the entire bottom part. I know at least that the 777 isn't wider than the MBITR pouch. The best thing would be measurements or pics from someone who owns both. Anyone?
Jimmypie
Can't help you on the puxing radio, but I just cut the bottom 2/3rds off of my dummy shell to sit over the top of my xtn446, it sits in an eagle pouch fine, to adjust the radio simply undo the buckle remove the dummy shell, much easier than actually inside it. Looks fine and still fills the pouch nicely.
Corrigan
That's awesome. I'll take that as proof of concept. I'll probably purchase one and see if I can work something out.
Jimmypie
Just cut a bit at a time till you get it fitting, on another shell i had i just completely removed the back, so it protected the radios face, was a bit more of a pain accessing the radio though.
Corrigan
Hey Jim, could you measure how much room there is height-wise inside the shell? I'm a bit worried my Puxing won't fit with aerial and all. Thanks mate. Actually, never mind -- I'm almost sure the antenna won't fit if it's straight. Do you think it would be a problem to bend the antenna down so that it fits inside?
