BerserkDS
Which unit is it? I tried finding a photo but all i found was a manual scan of the parts diagram, and it looks like it using a 1911 style hop up (has the post in front) with a 1911 guide rod (rear hole for post). The reason I ask is that Im using a strike warrior lower, and marui 4.3 upper (with proper slide spacer) and the guide rod rattles.
WhiteHawksan
I think the strike warrior uses a detonics slide with a different recoil rod system, I'd have to have a gander at one of the detonics I have at home but I think it's a different set-up to the standard 1911 affair. Im going space
nope. the foliage/desert warrior use a normal 1911 hop unit. i know this as i transplanted the unit into a normal 1911 style slide
bankz5152
Standard 1911 hop unit.
WhiteHawksan
I was refferring to the guide rod ratltle. But as has been said, the Strike warrior/desert/foliage warrior all use 1911 hop units.
bankz5152
All the same inside. I build my MEU from a desert warrior.
WhiteHawksan
He started with a strike not desert though, which is why I'm thinking it may have the detonics recoil rod, hence the standard 1911 one rattling.
bankz5152
Maybe but he only mentioned having a Strike lower.
BerserkDS
Yes I have a strike warrior lower and using a complete stock hicapa 4.3 upper and the guide rod rattles when the slide is on the strike warrior lower.
mimesis
So does the hop-up unit you're currently using have a "prong" on the front of it? And does the guide rod have a hole in the back of it for a prong to fit?
BerserkDS
negative the marui hicapa 4.3s use a hicapa hop up unit with a hicapa style guide rod. Got a hold of a desert warrior , and it uses a 1911 hop up unit, with a hole in the guild rod for the post to sit into. and guess what? No aftermarket manufacturer makes a 1911 style 4.3 guide rod. -___-
Lyng
You can use a std hicapa hop-up unit but 1911 std unit is to prefer. The guide rod not mamy makes but i have a few, any particular you want?
