TheFull9
So I was *fruitcage* about sticking normal AEG mags in my TM SCAR (which obviously you should not do) and I've snapped off a bit of the bolt stop mechanism (I'm assuming), pretty certain it's the piece that interacts with the tab on the magazines that only lifts once the mag is empty. Now if I can get a replacement for said part, does it sit inside the gearbox or just below outside it? If it's the latter I'll do the job myself, but if it's the former and the GB contains the spring pressure I'll be paying someone else to do it, I don't need that hassle in my life. Got Wood?
The gearbox doesn't contain the pressure, so it's easy to work on yourself. Just a case of opening and closing with them. I did all my own work on mine and I still can't close a normal AEG gearbox
TheFull9
Cool, I knew the AR models were alright but I wasn't sure about the SCAR. Now just need to figure out where this bit is attached inside and source a new one.
Got Wood?
Whoops sorry should have said mine was the M4. Thinking about it the recoil mech is on the top, so may be different
TheFull9
Yeah I thought that might be the case. Looking up the part it seems like it'll be outside the gearbox though so that should be alright if I can get one, E6 are OOS of course.
Got Wood?
Fire support have a good bundle of parts. Barring that perhaps someone's made an aftermarket replacement from aluminium?
TheFull9
F-S don't have it, can't find it at any airsoft retailer, done a fair bit of trawling any no other mentions anywhere. Just a case of jumping through the hoops to get one from TM if E6 can't source it (but they're pretty good at this stuff). It's a tiny, super complex, fiddly part that's clearly been cast and would be a nightmare to machine so I'm not even going to try and get one custom made.
Got Wood?
Best bet is probably find a 2nd hand gun in bits then really. When I had my M4 I bought an army clone to have. Spare set of parts
TheFull9
Doubt I'll find a boneyard TM SCAR. It takes a while to get stuff direct from TM but it's certainly possible, and waiting time doesn't bother me.
Katotaka
isn't there a store called something like Pulse Japan that sources TM replacement parts for people? That might help.
