IronWolf
This may be of interest to all you AK owners looking for something different: Both AK74 type 600 rnd hicaps at 25$ each. Standard AK style 600 rnd hicap also at 25$ each.
nmcabecadas
As usual the bakelite model isn't correct, is just the newer plastic model with a different color.
Tripod
They also look too "curved" for AK74 mags. Probably AKM. I hope they come out with midcap versions.
kronic
The Black mag is sweet. The Orange one, as i;ll call it (itsnt anywhere near bakelite) is pants. However the Guarder AKM bakelite mag kits look cool.
aimpoint
not to be a complete berk but what is an AKM bakelite mag,iv heard kronic mention it a few times but hav no idea what it is
nmcabecadas
The bakelite mag pretend to be the original AK-74 5.45 magazine. Is not ribbed, so the replica is very inaccurate.
kronic
Bakelite is Phenol formaldehyde resin (plastic). Thats pretty much unmeltable, in it's standard for it's transparent but is easily coloured. Was used in the 70's on radios. Bakelite AK mags come in 7.62x39 mm for the AK47/AKM, and 5.45x39 mm for the AK74 & AKSU. (image taken from http://tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/ ) Thats a real Bakelite AKM mag, very rare and can cost up to $75+ (if you find any cheaper than $50, your a lucky man...if you can find one in the first place) Note: The mags aren't always that red, they come in darker shades... all depneds on what dye was use and how much etc. http://www.intrudershop.com/show_product_e...p?idproduct=567 Guarder AKM bakelite mag kit.... a god send IMO Compare that, to this: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?i...393b3e758ec56a2 ... get my point? (image thefted from http://www.rusmilitary.com ) Heres a real AK74 bakelite mag, pretty common, and sell for around £20. Also avaliable in a 40 round form.... the 40 rounders are harder to get hold of and can be bought for around £40 a pop. Closest thing to this (other than convertying real mags) are Star Orange (illuminus orange!) plastic mags.. with incorrect ribbing marks (as Nuno stated): http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?i...0WOOD_srch_star Pretty poor eh? Cheers! ED (yes i am sad)
kronic
My Bakelite AK bayonet http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v206/edd...KBayonet001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v206/edd...KBayonet004.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v206/edd...KBayonet008.jpg In the last picture you can see the marble affect you get from colouring bakelite. PlasticMag
I was excited, and then I realized that they were curved lik an AKM style, not like an AK74... ######.
kronic
Yea, it annoys me that some companies don't catch on. I'm hoping guarder will start with some AK74 mags, as i haven't got the money to convert a pile of real mags.

Tripod
I need to figure out what I want to do with my AK... I'm probably just going to make it into an AKM or somethin. Or just leave it how it is.
outlaw
i have the same confusion keep it a 47 go akm or 74 or 10x svd svdm cant choose!
Tripod
I think I'm going to leave it how it is but add an AKM flashhider and eventually buy some of the brown AKM mags from Gaurder. Sad thing is, Gaurder will probably charge $500 each.
kronic
$24 RRP. So they'll be around $20. outlaw please on't bastardise the AK with an SVD kit, they're nasty... looks nothing like an SVD.... closer to a ROMAK but not quite a ROMAK.
