zerograffit
Hey.... I don't know if some did this or knows it but, heres an idea of metallic loooks.... Actually, naturally metallic scratches.... (the scope is a cheap plastic that came with LPEG)
zerograffit
Paint your gun with that, you get a nicer touch...
maverick343432
Isn't the xm8 made out of fibreglass tho? Therefore painting the gun up to seem like it's metal seems a bit odd. Nice techniques tho
CapaciousZepher
It's not a hard technique but good job all the same. Although as maverick mentioned I believe the XM8 is some kind of polymer, not metal. Cheers! - CapaciousZepher
TheKurodaVagrant
Indeed, the furniture (receiver included) of the real XM8 is plastic.
thatguy
Something I did a couple years back for an AK project was to take a patina kit from a craft store and make the gun look beat to sh*t with rust. Pretty simple technique, easy to find supplies. Just rub on the base layer of blackish-gray iron-based paint, let dry, then selectively add the oxidizing agent in layers. Looks great (sorry no pics) on AKs, G3s or anything you want to give a REALLY weathered/rusted look to. Water down the oxidizer and/or use less and get an even more subtle approach. fathom1001
Looks pretty good, reminds me of my mis-spent model painting youth.
