Sometimes they get in the way, or make you more tired and such. I would recommend a boonie, hat, or bandana... But if you're really into hardcore realism, then be my guest, but be warned... (I must say, however, that i played with a real kevlar PASGT so now i have become biased against helmets, well... kevlar helmets. PROTEC FTW!!!) I don't think a tactical belt would really matter in this set-up. Unless you decide to go with hip holster, drop-leg holsters/pouches, etc. Then, obviously, you'll need to get one. UnknownWarrior
hmm maybe i might get both a boonie and the helmet... hmm yeh i might get a drop leg holster and them leg pouches thingy... do you know where to get those?
Agent Hunk
And I was just clarifing that they didnt wear half that stuff and thus saying OMFG I AM DELTA LOLZ ROLF is wrong on the look level and the fact your not even Army. E-Hobby Asia has crappy vests. I used to have one. Crappy leg holsters like to move and sag. I had to zip tie an MK23 one up, alot to make it wear able, and then a mag pouch ripped from hardly what I consider abusive play. The best budget gear is military surplus. Holster wise, an M12 works great and they are cheap, or you can try picking up some cheap used stuff on forums. I know someone getting ride of a bunch of gear if your interested, just shot me a PM. Alot of its cheap. EDIT: Helmets are only fatiguing if one posses no endurance.
master_titled
Agent Hulk, there is no need to be a *fruitcage* *beep*
lostsheep
Agent Hunk has a point though. I really don't know why people think black with DCUs look good. I'll admit, the colors do contrast very well together but, in my opinion, they make you look like a complete idiot. Who in the military would wear black with ANY kind of in-country uniform? It just gives the enemy and outline to shoot at. As with everyone else, I'd say if you're on a budget, get: DCUs, some form of boots (black jungle types if you're going for the '91 Gulf War style), and ALICE webbing. Don't get a vest as nobody uses vests in the deserts since they trap heat and all. A plate carrier might also work if you're going for the current Iraq war style look or Afghanistan look. Or you could get a Guarder IBA in Woodland (on sale at AEX), four M4 pouches, and a medic pouch. That's all you really need to look like an Army infantryman in the 2000's era. Goodl luck! UnknownWarrior
hmmm cant find an guarder iba at aex....which one is it?
master_titled
Agent Hunk has a point though.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank you lostsheep. I do understand his point. Its just that UnknownWarrior asked, and i delivered... with an answer. So it was unneccessary for Agent Hunk to snap at me like that, and begin to stir up more trouble by saying: Helmets are only fatiguing if one posses no endurance.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I too suggest using coyote brown, or something of the sort. Though I use OD, and occasionally woodland because of the area i play at.
UnknownWarrior
does anybody know where i can find "Guarder IBA" preferably woodland online for a decent price...with the exception of airsoftextreme... @lostsheep cant seem to find the m4 pouches for the vest[woodland]...help please
lostsheep
Oh, my bad UnknownWarrior, I didn't realize AEX was out of stock of most of their IBAs and WC was no longer available...there's still OD (http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=254_257&products_id=1675) which MIGHT suffice considering some soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are still using LBV-88 systems so an OD IBA shouldn't be too out of place. If you REALLY want a WC IBA, then you might have to check out WGC as I've never really heard of another stateside carrier of Guarder IBAs. If you do go with the OD IBA, I suggest SDS gear, as it's the issued stuff and it's cheap considering the price of other high-end MOLLE gear. I suggest this kind: http://www.entrygear.com/product.asp?id=4055 (double-mag pouch with snap closure) as I have a set and it's VERY easy to take in a put in two mags. It's not like there's a lot of excess space left, but you can take out and put in magazines without any effort. Then there's also the CQB type pouches (http://www.entrygear.com/product.asp?id=4050) with elastic bands to keep the mags in the pouches even with the lid open. I'd also recommend these because I have a set of four I can sell
UnknownWarrior
well i was told that od gear goes with mostly everything as woodland is phasing out... i was also told to get this vest http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index....roducts_id=2836 good or no? it has built in mag pouches and you can add some pouches cuz it also molle webbing... and in the end its gonna look like this: http://members.shaw.ca/jkwok2001/wee.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/jkwok2001/weesj1.JPG so what do you guys think? does it looks good on dcu aswell as woodland etc?
