  1. Tru-Spec. The colours in Propper are a slightly different, from what we worked out, darker green shade overall. When worn next to any other genuine MC, such as Eagle, there is a noticeable difference, unlike the Tru-Spec fabric.
  2. Nice job Grim, it's certainly a very unique angle on a British loadout.
  3. No worries Delta, thanks for posting up some more info! As for the Aviation connector, mine also twists when in place, but by tightening up the...urmm...tightener on it, it seemed to help, but yes, I can imagine it breaking if you twisted it too much!
  4. This thread need moar tasty DPM... My finished Mk6, although I have sudden urgings to add an NVG mount. But then again, i'm tempted to leave that for a possible future 3 PARA loadout... Consider it a teaser for my finished Basra 08 loadout pics...coming soon to a forum near you! Literally waiting on a couple of items (unforuntately one might not crop up for a while.)
  5. We need a GR300/LR300 owner's club.
  6. Thanks for the info Spo0k and Joe. And lovely gat, Render.
  7. Ok, so i've been airsofting around a year and a half. I've been to local skirmishes every fortnight, and i've also mananged to get to a few awesome weekend events. But something had always felt wrong...yup, you guessed it! I never had any comms to use, which, for a standard Sunday skirmish can be rather annoying, let alone a weekender. Soon realising that comms was an important matter, I dragged a pair of Motorola Talkabout radios from somewhere, and finally I could make contact with other comms users! But, the novelty of holding a radio in one hand and a rifle in the other soon wore off, not
  8. Nothing terribly exciting here...a terrible pistol for skirmishing...but, in true WA style...I just love holding it.
  9. I've never been quite sure what to do with her, although I love her dearly. I wanted to put the Prime LR300 MIL stock on, but they're discontinued I'm not sure what other stocks would look right...suggestions? Then i'll no doubt slap on a moderator and ACOG for good measure.
  10. Krylon Camouflage paint; Khaki, Medium Brown and Olive...layered up using my special mesh stuff... To keep mildly on topic, did a quick Multicam IR test today...all I can say is, I need to bin the Propper shirt ASAP! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XlFp8T14J5A
  11. Had a quick kit up... Considering the amount still to get, I'm pretty happy. Oh, and blame the Propper shirt for looking like 'sham. Ignore the AWFUL chinstrap. And imagine the SERPA is a Safariland...and pretend the Bowman is a TCI Liberator headset...
  12. Fatal: Fair comment. The only thing I would say is, that from watching a ton of other videos, most guys seem to take a pack out with them on foot-patrols, particularly in A-Stan. I know this isn't an A-Stan based loadout, but I just used a bit of imagination as there are no really recent pics of 2 Royal Anglian. Thanks for the comment though, and I may invest in a Camelbak to just clip to the back of my LCTV in future.
  13. Thanks for the C&C! -For some reason, I absolutely love the LCTV. Some guys I talk to hate it, and some say they get on great with it...I tried mounting everything straight onto the Osprey and found it ridiculously useless. I guess it's just a matter of opinion here, but obviously I have never had to put it through a combat situation. I will check out some of the Warrior stuff though. -I am useless for forgetting the NBC band/tape on the helmet. Does anyone know where I can just get a cheap NBC boot or something? I've tried ebay and whatever... -Will do the gloves. -Even more
  14. Phew. I think this is getting as finished as it will ever get. I'm fairly happy with the way it's all worked out. Whether I will manage the pack in skirmishes, however, is another matter. Once I manage to buy or borrow an SA80 I will do a proper photoshoot on a decent location...but for now, here's how it's looking. 2nd BN 'The Poachers', Royal Anglian Regiment Basra, Iraq - 2008 KITLIST: Mk6 Combat Helmet - Issue DDPM Helmet Cover (Elastic Removed) ESS V-12 Advancer Goggles Issue DDPM Tropical Shirt Issue DDPM Tropical Trousers Issue DDPM Leathe
  15. Woooo! Finally got my new 2nd line! -Eagle Industries Plate Carrier w/ Cummerbund -Eagle Industries Shoulder Pads -1no. Eagle Industries Double Mag Pouch -1no. Eagle Industries Admin Pouch -2no. S.O Tech Double Mag Pouches -2no. EssTac Pistol Pouches -TAG Hydration Carrier w/ Multicam Tube Cover Still requires quite alot more unfortunately...but, anyways...i'm happy.
  16. Are you talking about the pics of genuine S'06 trials I posted or the Ebaybanned ACU-cut combats? If you're talking about the S'06, it's most definately not cheap, and most definately not nasty. Unless you define the current issue stuff cheap and nasty of course. In other news, I now have my Meindl Desert Fox boots, ESS V-12 Advancers and Bowman headset. My loadout is pretty much finished on the gear front, just need an SA80. Fully kitted up pics will be taken tomorrow...
  17. ######, really can't remember. Just looking at the differences in cut on the two makes me say no...unless it's a different trial!
  18. Bamse, that actually turned out pretty sweet. The MICH feels wrong, yet it actually works. Whilst we're on the topic of trials: Why oh why didn't I buy them at the time...
  19. Thanks Morpcat (your old UK Desert Guide helps! ) - I've actually got a pair of ESS ICE that are my standard skirmishing eye protection...but they seem to be mega-uncomfy under the Mk6. I will definately be putting the V-12s on my helmet for authenticity though. - I'll try and pick some of those Meindl's up. I actually had no idea until re-reading your guide that they are issue! - UBACS...yes...urm....I'll get down the gym first EDIT: Forgot to ask...do most guys snip the fingers off their issue gloves? Wasn't sure.
  20. LOL, that's a pretty basic error... *Sigh* Can't even get the timeframe right, what hope do I have for the gear... Thanks.
  21. Hmmm, no idea dude...I'm going off what it says on the RAR Noticeboard on the Army website; "May 2008: Poachers deploy to Iraq" EDIT: http://www2.army.mod.uk/royalanglian/regim...rters/index.htm Sorry if that's incorrect info, just going off what I saw.
  22. Rather substantial update, but still a WORK IN PROGRESS! 2nd BN 'The Poachers', Royal Anglian Regiment Basra, Iraq 2008 KITLIST [WORK-IN-PROGRESS]: MK6 Combat Helmet - Issue DDPM Cover (Elastic removed) Bolle X800 Goggles Issue DDPM Tropical Shirt Issue DDPM Tropical Trousers Issue DDPM Leather Combat Gloves Osprey Body Armour, DDPM - Replica Armour Plates CQC Load Carrying Tactical Vest, DDPM 1no. Helmet Bag Pouch, DDPM (Used as Utility/Radio) 1no. Torch Pouch, DDPM 3no. SA80 5.56mm Ammo Pouches, DDPM 2no. Frag Grenade Pouche
  23. The rest of the pants are made of the standard twill fabric (unless they've changed the material on the ACU ones from the MC ones). It's VERY comfortable to wear. I don't know where OPS have sourced the ACU fabric from, but if its anything like mine with will be pretty hardwearing. The Cordura "gaiters" (as I call them), is to keep ###### out of your boots and prevent them getting ripped if going through thick undergrowth.
  24. Needs some foliage green boots now... Looking nice dude.
