Quick question to folks... Anyone stumbled across any Brit forces in Iraq/Afghanistan using Osprey body armour and also the old Clansman radio system? It's a long shot I know. I'm a bit of a ###### when it comes to getting things spot on, but Bowman stuff is in rather short supply on the surplus market, and Ebay doesn't have what I'm specifically after Bowman-wise.

Couple of updated pics: Sorry if things are a bit mish-mash, had to quickly do it at the end of the skirmish, and somehow my gloves got left out of it...as did a couple of other bits. Unfortunately cheap and Multicam don't come in the same sentence. You'll get used to it... Obviously i'm in the UK but I wish we could get a set of BDUs for $80 over here, i'm pretty sure that's as cheap as you'll get in the US for real stuff. And i'll forgive you for the rather old pic of Wannabe...mainly because 1) It's Wannabe and 2) It's amazing.

Yup, heard good things about the HSS Plate Carrier and a mate has found it to be a great bit of kit. I can't comment on the latest Condor PC in relation to their old vests though, i'm afraid. If it doesn't have to be a plate carrier you're after, there's plenty of excellent rigs avaliable, ICE Tactical do a lovely split rig...or you could go uber-hi speed/lo drag with a Battle belt + suspenders.

Unfortunately not mate, Blackwater have stopping making their MC gear...you'll find them on Ebay for ridiculous prices! And 2nd line for $150...is that including pouches, etc? Exluding pouches, I can heartily recommend the Condor Plate Carrier: http://www.opsgear.com/MOLLE-Non-Ballistic.../cn-opc-008.htm Truely great bit of kit. It ain't the most gucci or flashy plate carrier, but it's low profile, comfy, and gets the job done.

I would now strongly recommend against replica, except perhaps if you really are not sure if you are going to like it or not, as I did, and started off with a complete replica loadout, which has now been almost entirely replaced by real gear. Thanks to the likes of Propper, Tru-Spec and OPS, there's almost no excuse for repro!

Slight tangent but I didn't want to start a new thread in the Gear forum; But can anyone ID this plate carrier? I've asked several people but to no avail.

I have a pair from UR-Tactical, and I absolutely love them. UR-Tactical sells on Ebay as Multicamguy2, and it's the fastest shipping i've ever had. 3 days from them! The site looks dodgey but they give 110% customer service. Like Ragnar said, multicamaddict.com/forum for OPS Combat Pants review...

Lol. Because it's 500D cordura it doesn't make the Quality worse. The figure (250D,500D, 750D, 1000 etc.) means how strong/durable the material is. 500D cordura is used instead of NYCO RipStop/Twill around the kneepad because it shapes the area for the kneepad, and also its an area that will get a lot of wear from kneeling and whatever. I don't know about anyone else but I certainly wouldn't want 1000D cordura on my trousers!

Yeah it's the new Condor PC. I've just bought one, yep it comes with the shoulder straps, and all I can say is it's a smashing bit of kit!

Unfortunately Para helmets go for big money, one i've been chasing on Ebay has gone up £50, most seem to go for £70.

Ahh, damn you Grim! Logged onto Ebay and found you'd won the Osprey pouches I really wanted! Bloody good price to...£36 for 3 double mag pouches.
