  1. If a mod is asked to close a sales thread you have 2 options:- You can either close the thread without posting, in which case the seller might continue to get PMs from potential buyers or you can post to say the item is sold, thus bumping an obsolete thread to the top of the list. Anyway... I'm also a member of IMOC.CO.UK (an MR2 owners club) and I see that, when mod's close sales threads they have 2 options:- 1) Close thread 2) Close thread (Sale Complete) If a mod picks option 2 it closes the thread and also edits the title and prefixes it with "[COMPLETE]". This means ev
  2. Clicked that link, ticked the "remember me" button, logged in then closed the IE page. Opened another IE page, typed in "www.arniesairsoft.co.uk" and, when I got here, it asked me for my name and password again. *EDIT* Incidentally, I just installed Vista on one of my PCs and Arnies seems to look a lot better under Vista. Is it just a coincidence, but all the button and tab shapes seem much more "vista-like"?
  3. Actually, you raise a fair point there. I weighed it with the boxmag empty. 2500 x 0.25g BBs would add over half a kilo to that, topping it out at 8.1kgs.
  4. When PMs are displayed in the little "My Assistant" pop-up box the HTML is disabled. In the proper PM inbox, it does work fine. I must admit, I thought the My Assistant thing was going to be THE way to access PMs, do searches etc, so I was a bit worried. Incidentally, is there any way to stay logged-in when you quit the site? I get asked for my details every time I visit and I can't see a "keep me logged in" tick-box or anything.
  5. Yep. I have so many kinds of AR15 mag that I honestly don't recall which are which but I know some of the ones I've tried in the Minimi don't latch in place. In other news, I just fitted an ELCAN to my Minimi and it looks great but, my god is it heavy!!! Just weighed it: 7.5kgs. Also, I whipped the front end off it today and found the inner barrel had started to go green underneath! I think this was cos it was wet the other week, at a game. The lesson here is to make sure you swab out the OUTER barrel if it gets wet. Looking at it, it has bushes fitted in either end which
  6. Loving the new forum layout, except for one thing (so far)... PMs don't seem to have HTML enabled. PMs without smilets or quotes is not the end of the world but, as a mod, PMs and Thread Reports containing hyperlinks that don't work makes things a bit of a PITA. I have to open a new IE window, highlight the link and then paste it into the new window. Not exactly gonna kill me, I suppose, but it makes helping out a real chore.
  7. Well, yeah but maybe that's why the guy SAID he doesn't like using them. Given that we're not real soldiers who are FORCED to learn to use issued kit, and we ARE fashion-victims who buy what we like () it's perfectly acceptable for him to buy a sight he prefers rather than learn to use one he doesn't like. Right ho. Like I said, not trying to teach you to suck eggs. I just reckon the problems with ghosting on replica EoTechs are exaggerated and, unless you've played with one for yourself, you're not really likely to understand it. I will, at some point try to take some pict
  8. Erm, yeah. If you're USING the sight indoors then you dial the brightness back. If you DON'T do this then it'll be so bright that it'll dazzle you and stop you actually seeing anything through it. What I'm saying is that if you're sitting in front of the TV playing with the sight and you have the brightness cranked right up then you'll get the ghosting. If you're using the sight correctly, and have the brightness adjusted to match the ambient light, then you won't have a problem. Have you actually used one of these fake EoTechs? Don't mean to be stroppy. It's just that, unle
  9. Erm, no. Thing is, it ISN'T all opinion. When you say "the gun doesn'ty have adjustable sights" and it actually does it means.... you're wrong! If you're wrong about FACTS it calls into question your opinion. Get over it.
  10. Pfft. I suspect most of those reports come from chairsofters. The design of the sight mean you will always get reflections but, when in use, if you're using the sight in poor lighting you MUST turn the brightness down or you'll be "dazzled" by the reticle anyway, which gets rid of the ghosting. In bright light, with the brightness turned up, then you can't see the ghosting because it's drowned out by the ambient light. Sure, if you're sitting in your living room looking through the sight with the brightness turned all the way up then the ghosting IS apparent but it's not an is
  11. Yes, very good. That's kinda like saying motorbikes aren't dangerous as long as you ride safely. Point being that people are gonna buy this and stick it in their gun without understanding what it's for and, as I said, there'll be tears.
  12. Must admit, I was disappointed with the size of an EoTech. Maybe I'm being fickle but I have yet to find a gun wide enough that the EoTech actually looks sensible on it. If you mount an EoTech on an M4 it looks like a fat guy riding a bike when you're aiming.
  13. Erm, you'll have to excuse me for using this thread like a notice board... Turns out I won't be posting anything until next week. There's a postal strike at home and no outgoing post.
  14. I got the bearings yesterday. If Smurf and Fizzy send me PMs with their home addy's I'll get them posted off and tell you how much they cost me.
  15. Very, very impressive. The only tiny thing I'd add is that you should always think about WHERE you're putting marks on a rifle stock. For example, as in the above picture, the only way a rifle will receive damage to the pistol grip will be if you fall over it while drunk. Also, consider the orientation of the dents. Look at what bits of the gun are in the way when you're using the rifle BUT also look at what parts of it rub against your kit when the rifle is slung etc. You often find that military rifles will all have similar wear patterns because they all get used the same way.
  16. Care to record your ROF and post it up? Here's mine, 12 rps. m249.wav
  17. I agree. My point was more in relation to his "Why should I be part of a community when I actually just want to make use of the free opportunity to seel my junk" attitude. As I say, nobody's being forced to abide by these new rules. You can always leave. I DO agree with you about the way the new system has been implimented and I don't think the system is ideal. Personally, I reckon that all that was needed was to prevent newbs STARTING threads. Not my internet website though so I just run with the ball I'm given.
  18. Nobody's forcing you. You can sell your gun elsewhere.
  19. I've already binned the heat shield off my Para and, as soon as Pablo goes to the loo at MA3 I'm swapping the foregrip off his Mk1 onto my Para as well. Possibly.
  20. Incidentally, it's worth mentioning this purely cos I was pleasantly surprised when I realised... Do ALL of these guns come with a railed feed cover? I've seen railed CA M249 feed covers for sale and the ASW description of the A&K gun didn't mention the railed feed cover. When they were first delivered there were a few people saying they were getting railed feed covers for theirs and I just wondered if the Mk1, Mk2 and Para ALL have the railed cover? Anyway, the Para does and I've got the Elcan to go on it.
  21. Okay, that IS all 3 sets gone. I can order another bundle if anybody registers interest.
  22. Nope. I figured that the foregrip was removeable about 30 seconds after first seeing the gun. Personally, I reckon it's easier to fit the battery by removing the barrel though. It's easier to drop the barrel down into the forgrip than try and balance it inside the frame and clip the foregrip on around it. Tell you what I DID do though... I found that the space in the front frame was a tiny bit too short to get the battery in easily so I carefully dremelled a tiny bit of the metal away from the front of the frame so the battery can drop in much easier. As for refitting th
  23. One more set of 8mm bearings left. Price is 47p per bearing which is a whopping £2.82 per set (10% discount for 10 items or more). If I have to post em to you they'll go by registered post which is about £1.50-odd. I'll post em out and THEN tell you the cost and you can either paypal me or buy me beer.
  24. You need to take the rail off, turn it upside down and file at the underside of the rails for about 5 minutes and the SUSAT will fit.
