  1. I can't really comment as the only ASCUs I own have gone into AEGs with high end internals and all of them have HT motors, but I'd not be surprised.
  2. That's because the ASCU without the anti reversal is relying on the motor to stop the geartrain from reversing. If the motor isn't strong enough (IE: the stock ferrite 32tpa motor that Specna supplies which is identical to the old Chaoli stock motors that all the ACM AEGs come with) then the motor will need more current to apply the braking force to stop the gearbox in the right place, leading to a current spike the ASCU thinks is indicative of a problem - hence the alarm mode. If you have a strong neodynium motor in there, it won't need so much current to apply braking force and as such w
  3. I'd reccomend putting the anti-reversal back in. It'll not cause any problems and will put less stress on the ASCU and motor.
  4. I never said the trigger box needed to be made of steel, I was answering someone's query and then yours.
  5. The box is pot metal, the hammer, disconnector and firing pin are steel, as I said before. The only thing I would have said they need to make steel now is the trigger/main sear. Eventually that will break and render the gun totally inoperable.
  6. Basic look over: Steel hammer, sear, firing pin. Plastic buffer in the receiver. Non captive recoil spring. I got a gas magazine with mine, which leaks from both the top and bottom valves. However, WE magazines fit and fire. Outer barrel is not steel, unlike the WE. My WELL has an issue with alignment of the gas piston, when it's fully tightened it sits 10degrees low so it rubs against the gas tube.
  7. Sorry for the lack of updates on the well to we comparison, been unemployed the last few weeks plus family drama.
  8. I've seen the recoil spring guide holder/receiver cover latch break, but not the guide itself. As for the small poof of gas on reloading thing I've only ever done it when I messed up a reload and hit the valve on the mag release. However I've seen that happen on GHKs too.
  9. I didn't do a great job of the modification. I know how I could do it properly now, but hindsight is 20/20. Mine isn't very stable but if you modify the hole in the receiver to fit the adaptor it should be. I modified the adaptor to fit the hole in the receiver and that was the wrong thing to do.
  10. I have 4 WE AKs. Only one has a broken trigger box and it's the only one with an RATech FCG set. The other four have Haesphestus sets.
  11. Of note: Wii-Tech has started making steel FCG parts for the WE AK, including some nice trigger variations and also a sling plate adaptor and AKSU rail mount. http://www.wiitech.com.hk/product-list.shtml?path=57_152
  12. I have the Team GBB AKSU steel bolt piston. It makes my AKSU a LOT of fun to fire.
  13. When I have the time I'll be doing a side by side comparison to my WE AKSU. From first impressions though, the WELL magazine seal is much much harder than the WE one, so I dunno if it'll seal as well.
  14. Got a hold of the WELL clone. Initial inspection shows it to be a more or less 100% clone of the WE, with some simplifications done to make it easier to manufacture. Magazines are compatible, but I'll have to take it totally apart to check the FCG. Externally, not as nice as the WE. But for the price it's an excellent start, plus they made CO2 magazines.
  15. Looks like a furniture thing. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Polyurethane-Rubber-Self-Adhesive-Bumper-Feet-Stops-Bumpons-/181348899758?hash=item2a393c9bae:g:PAgAAOSwuAVWzHZ2
  16. My suggestion to you is to dry fire it a lot. Put a thousand or so cycles through it and hope the spring beds in at a slightly lower FPS.
  17. 318 with 0.25g = 1.17J = 355fps with 0.2g
  18. Taiwangun.com I'll do a strip down and show it next to the WE AKSU and see how it matches up.
  19. IIRC the mags are compatible. If I had the cash I'd buy one and check. *fruitcage* it, I bought one to check.
  20. I could do but I prefer the look of the 74. I know the drum isn't kosher but I can just pretend it's a special caliber conversion...
  21. I have 4 of these, two side folders and two full stock - at the moment I have them set up as an AKSU with wood and bakelite, an FSB style AK105 with rails up the wazzoo, an AIMS with the folding stock and wooden donkey *rickroll* foregrip, and an AK74m with ZENIT everything. All of them have upgraded trigger sets - 3x HP and 1x RAT and they all work fine, all are super accurate and generally awesome. I just really want to get another full stock one and convert it into an RPK74 with an HPA drum. It would be so much fun to put the *suitcases* up the enemy with the ludicrous noise these thin
