  1. Straight propane (Rothenberger brand, if that helps ), Relativley cool at the moment, probably about 20 Degrees C average? It was probably about 25-30 Degrees C when I was skirmishing, it was at the end of the "english heat wave" we had a wee while back I have one old-style mag (not holding gas atm) and three newer ones, with the newer mags having a good 300 odd rounds through each one, at least. Note that all temperatures are likely to be totally wrong, but I sure aint been keeping them in a freezer
  2. Just thought I might give you lads all a heads up... Remember when I said that my Gen 2 AGM mags were holding gas from a skirmish a few days before? Well, A good couple of weeks have passed, and they're still holding the same gas with no problems or leaks. At all. So, if you're after dirt cheap mags, the newer AGM ones will work perfectly fine, it seems. As far as holding gas goes, at any rate.
  3. I got mine from EHobby, but they're probably the same ones. Though they weigh the same as the original mag, so it's possible that they're different.
  4. Hey, if they ACTUALLY weigh that much, I'll probably get some. The gen 2 AGM mags are fine for me, but weigh the same as the original one. So, a lot. Just four of them weighs me down one hell of a lot, and I'd like to run with six mags or so, if possible.
  5. How rare... I have three of them, and all of mine are fine. Lasted an entire day of skirmishing and are still holding gas fine... two days later. That's the same gas that was in them at the skirmish, mind If I could afford to do so, I'd buy a few more, though those EAC mags are looking rather interesting... Worth a poke, at least, eh? Especially seeing as the reduced weight will cut teh shipping costs.
  6. Quite simple... You just remove the floating valve from the nozzle, and chop the front down a couple of mm. Stops the BB rolling off the nozzle when placed upon it; This means that the BB is being pushed by the nozzle, and not by the floating valve.
  7. Sounds like it was... I'm rather curious as to which sites would EVER let you use a 550fps AEG, semi only or not... Highest I've seen for AEG's is 400 fps, semi only. Plus, there's the fact that it can probably fire full auto without much fuss, and as such is a section five firearm in every single way that counts.
  8. Oh for... Don't cut down your nozzle. That's just asking for trouble, and you'll get gas pissing out of the seal between it and the hop unit, due to the nozzle being too short. I've already sorted this problem out, though nobody seems to have noticed it. Cut down your floating valve. Seriously. Take the nozzle, and try to put a BB on it, as if it was being chambered by the bolt. I'll bet dollars to donuts (or whatever that phrase is) that it won't sit central on the nozzle, and will try and roll off elsewhere. This is because the long thin bit at the front of the float
  9. Generally a specialised tool is preferable to save mangling the nut; You can do it with pliers, bit this is liable to damage the nut and make it look nasty. You can buy one for about £20/$20 (cheaper in the US...), or you can just make one. I was tired with not having a proper tool to use, and made one out of a bit of wood and a few bolts with the threads filled off. Works like a charm.
  10. There was nowhere for me to put the marbles this time... My camera is indeed terrible; I took the pics with my phone, which is... not great. I've got better pics for my review, but I couldn't be arsed to go get the decent camera when I took the pics of the nozzle. I just need to fine-tune this now, and wait for my propane adapter to appear; three cans of propane sitting here, and no adapter to use with them
  11. No, no issues yet; only horrible consistency, and I'm pretty sure that's not caused by adding the shims. Though, I've no clue what IS causing it! I've not put many rounds through the gun with the shims there, as I'm trying to find what the damned gun is shooting at; my chrono is being awkward, as is the gun with the aforementioned consistency issues. I doubt that it'll add any additional wear; all that it does is make the floating valve sit further forward than normal; that's it. As I said in my guide; this is, as far as I can tell, exactly what the NPAS system does; it changes where
  12. Well, here it is folks; how to downgrade your AGM M4 with nothing more than what you'll have in your drawers! Well, if you're a tech that's used to fiddling with things, that is What you will require for this is: 1 x AGM M4 (duh ) 1 x Sharp knife 1 x clippers (preferable, but not realy needed) Screwdrivers to take apart the bolt Superglue A handfull of 8mm shims (the wide ones) Aaaand that's it! So, let's get started on this, eh? So, we get ourselves the nozzle from your M4. Grab it out the bolt, I won't bother to show you how. We should then have this domajig:
  13. No, AEG buckings do not fit. And stop typing in capitals, it makes you sound like a loud, obnoxious idiot.
  14. Pah, I forgot about that wee bit! In any case, it's not really a necessary part... In other news, I think I may have the holy grail of the AGM M4; a dirt cheap and pretty easy way to reduce the power to whatever you want! I'm going to continue fiddling with it, and if I can get the power consistently below 330, I'll post it up. Currently, it's firing around 345 with Ultrair power gas.
  15. I'd superglue it in or something similar; this part stops the nozzle being pulled too far forwards out of the bolt. It's not NECESSARY, per say, in so far that the gun will likely still cycle without it, but I wouldn't reckon on it being good for the gun to not have it there.
  16. Care to crank that down some and see how LOW it can go? Also, I'm currently chronoing my m4, with some added fun and games. Delta ring decided to loosen itself during firing, giving me a difference of 94 fps between the highest and lowest readings! Methinks it'll be a bit ore consistent with the front end, well, actually screwed in
  17. Top tip from stealth there. In other news, my AGM is FINALLY out for delivery; assuming parcelforce don't screw anything up, I'll have it in a (hopefully small) number of hours! I will do my best to whip up a comprehensive review of it when it does appear. What common issues should I be on the look out for, then? So far I've seen mags swelling and leaking, as well as the hop having masking tape and generally being a bit wonky out of the box. Anything else to have a look for, then? EDIT: HURRAH! It's here! I'm in love with this beastie already once I get some decent photos sorte
  18. If you can fit standard foregrips, you can fit that. It attaches in the exact same way. If you don't have a "normal" delta ring and handguard cap thingy (goes behind the front sight and holds the grip in place at that end) then you'll need those. Otherwise, it'll likely be a drop in fit. Worst that'd happen is it's too tight, requiring a small amount of filing.
  19. Well, you make one good point here; we could do with a concise and up to date version of the rules. However, the rules have hardly changed since they were laid down, so it's a moot point. Thing is, when a rule is changed, an announcement is made, which is normally ignored by all; but that's by the by. The staff of arnies isn't the government, we don't have to discuss openly every new rule we make. When a new one comes into force, the forum is told. That's how it's always operated, and that's how it will always operate. Not just on this forum, but on pretty much every other forum in exist
  20. Okay. Look at that wonderful little bar that appears to the elft of this post, telling you all about me, the author of this post. Notice what it says for "Group"? It says "Sales/Off Topic Moderator". That is, it's my job to keep order in two main sections of the forum; sales, and off topic. Odly enough, the sales section is included in these two sections. There are, at current count, 5 other mods that do this same job, and only this same job. That's not taking into account Global mods and the admins (IE, marlowe and, when he's about, arnie). Plenty of people who basically are here to patr
  21. So, basically, you think that you, or indeed the average forum user, should have a democratic say on the rules governing the forum? Tough. Arnies is a dictatorship. Get used to it. This is not a democracy, in any way shape or form. There are those with power, and those without. You are part of the masses; That is, those WITHOUT power. True, it's a benevolent dictatorship, but it's a dictatorship nonetheless. Arnie is in supreme charge, as it's his website. A while back, he left Marlowe as an admin in his stead, and various other mods with varying powers were assigned to people who we
  22. Terrible pictures, as usual, but hey ho.... I don't like doing things the orthodox way In case anybody is wondering, it's JG G36c, internally fettled by myself, running at 328fps on the dot, and flings 0.25's out to 55-60m nicely. Oh, and that's a RS AK74 mag that's been press-ganged into use there. Holds a shade under 500 rounds, feeds and fits flawlessly, and is, well, awesome.
  23. Awesome! Keep us all appraised of what else does and doesn't fit, eh? I'd love to do this kind of testing myself, but no way do I have the money for all the parts...
  24. Pah, mine was in customs for almost a month. I don't doubt it was the first into the UK, but... Well, Customs just decided to take their time with it. It should be in my hands by monday, so I'll do a full, proper review then; until now, all we seem to have is a couple of mini-reviews, and people saying that they like it. I'll do a full takedown and take pics of any and all faults/niggles/whatever that I find, as well as how I'll be lowering the FPS, if I can figure a way to do so
