  1. Basically pressed steel receiver instead of milled plus a few other difference like those above.
  2. Tinkerbell, It's fake, like any HK airsoft suppressor.
  3. My Navy Seal CQBR special:
  4. I think they are most likely Spanish desert pattern. I'm sure Killtokk will confirm.
  5. Nice helmets guys keep 'em coming. Clmwrx, This is not a thread for every Tom, D*ck and Harry. It is for gear nuts who want to replicate the real world instead of some generic helmet/hat thread that has builders helmets and cowboy hats in it. I just wanted something more exact and dedicated. Robbyc, If you want an a BHD M4 sniper look then you need to get a half cut Protec skate helmet. Have a look here, it is under Classic Skate http://www.pro-tec.net/skate.html If your looking to get that style of helmet in the UK then you can probably forget it. I looked high and low in e
  6. Ah, well spotted. The conundrum is that I shoot a pistol with my left hand but shoot a rifle/sub machine gun with my right. I am also right eye dominant and shoot the pistol with my right eye. This of course leads onto the next problem of the dump pouch which is very difficult to use as I have to reach across if I maintain a hold on the pistol grip. I also had to un-stitch and reverse the leg straps/fastex on the leg panel because of course they are designed to fit to your left leg.
  7. Yeah, just about. You would have seen me running around at Eversley prior to June. You are the guy who wears all flecktarn and flecky helmet cover over a Protec?
  8. Originally a CA M4 but then I bought a CA two-piece barrel, ditching the front section, and Guarder 16mm barrel extension to make it a CQBR. I changed it back to an M4 configuration a couple of days ago because I was bored with it.
  9. This is NOT a general thread for bog standard helmets such as 'this is my skid lid from airsoftrubbish.com' etc. Please post your helmet impressions that you have created from real world US Special Forces pics. However, if you have an interesting impression from US Army or Marines and other country forces then by all means post, but they must be unique and accurate. Please, keep it geardo! Here's mine. What do you think? JUST MICH 2001 replica with three colour Krylon, added velcro, ITT (modded for MICH)PASGT nvg mount, ACR MS-2000 strobe, IR squares, US f&r flags and Bol
  10. No, I think the photographer caught him in the process of either lying down or standing up. He just has chicken legs and large trousers.
  11. I like it, it's got contractor written all over it.
  12. You can buy the after market G&P Aimpoint L-mount replicas or a TGS, Guarder 'Knights' copy. All those are the correct height for co-witnessing when mounted to the receiver.
  13. IvanD/Ashfield, I'm pretty sure no other replica company supplies that mount with it's red-dot so it would make it a G&P replica. p.s. you will need a higher mount to co-witness as that mount is too low when mounted on the receiver rail. EDIT: King Arms do.
  14. An M653. Crenna, Have you got an M16A2 barrel on that M16A1?
  15. Lonewolf is correct. If it is a G&P version they now supply that version mount instead of their Aimpoint replica L-mount which they used to supply. The AP L-mount does give the correct height for co-witnessing. I was a little peeved when I had to buy a second mount for mine.
  16. Who makes that receiver Ye old Canadian?
  17. Leemovie, you win. I really appreciate seeing the fruits of someones 'real' labours and that is excellent. Also I'm loving the colour difference between the barrel and gas parts - beautiful. Is the colour untouched Marui, your doing or aftermarket bits & bobs?
  18. bigphish038, How do you aim as your red dot as it is well below the sight line of the iron sights and the dot would be blocked by the rear strut of the foresight? EDIT: Same question to Skyflash.
  19. I see, but that still leaves the bolt carrier which I presume must have had its rear end cut down to allow the exposed portion(ejection port) to go to the rear of the receiver during firing. Anyone got any links to real steel exploded diagrams etc? Cheers.
  20. Sorry this is going further off topic but I'm curious. Obviously it needs a return/recoil spring but considering that the bolt carrier occupies most of the upper receiver space when in battery(reason for buffer tube in std AR's), plus it needs a return spring, where does it all fit considering it still has to move beyond the ejection port in recoil. Is the bolt carrier chopped down but in that case how does the hammer not get tangled with the return spring?
  21. Spoon, That is cool! Is the suppressor shroud real steel or did you make it yourself? I presume it's to stop you burning your hands on the real steel. Looks neat. Gun make? Gas used? Any mods?
