  1. Are we talking about the same thing? Your CYMA as you mention it: The gears between that CYMA and TM M4 have no impact on where the BB goes. The AR latch doesn't. The nozzle and pistonhead? Eh, as long as they seal, they don't affect the BB flight path and accuracy. The M4 should have a Type1 cylinder if it is stock, while the AK has a Type0. As long as there are not leaks between the respective cylinders and cylinderheads, the air will get pushed out and the flight path is not directly determined by those two components. Neither the piston, spring, or spring guide either.
  2. Um yeah.....longer inner barrel given other things being equal will do that..... That CM.028 is a pretty nice gun though.
  3. Wha?! The TM tappet plate is brittle? You are kidding, right? TM tappet plates are flexible, and I've had far better experiences running them in high-powered AEG setups than Systema and Guarder offerings for example. I'm talking 1.35X the forum limits for thousands upon thousands of rounds. While I've had TM tappet plates show wear, I've never had one break and haven't had misfeed problems with them in all types of guns.
  4. Were there any details given on the Vz61 magazine?
  5. FarEast, under the Japanese limitations of gas sources, yeah, that is problematic. But it is due to those gas limitations, not that a regulated gas source has to be adjusted constantly due to the weather. Same goes with cold temps.....HPA isn't affected by the cold like green/propane or CO2.
  6. I fail to see how that is possible with a regulated gas source, let alone what Trasher mentioned above. While I'm not an expert, false info. Sure. In essence, you are taking the external gas source (like a CO2 or HPA bottle that someone would carry in a hydro carrier) and moving it into the box mag. Hence, it will be smaller (less capacity), while potentially taking a bit of BB space in the box mag away. Granted, you take away the big 'ol gear workings of the TOP box mag and place a small bottle in there with a mini-regulator, and......yeah, I suppose the BB capacity of the T
  7. http://www.oplionclaws.com/bulldog/bulldog-home.php In the summer of 2005, the infamous War Lord Miller was forced off Tehachapi region by the join effort of Alpha and Bravo Company. The wondering War Lord decided to venture to his ancestral homeland of Texas. War Lord Miller would gain popular support from his old followers and new admirers alike and form a sizable militia in Ft. Hoodstan. Dwelling deeply in the woods between the townships of HMF and EMF, War Lord Miller's militia would intercept supplies from Allied Forces meant for refugee relief efforts. The Allied garriso
  8. Sun Project = M16 series using Escort internal system. Originally used SP mags; now modified to use TM mags Youth Engineering = MP5 series. Originally using Escort internal system with YE mags. New batch bought up and modified to now use TM mags, better hopup, etc. He works for/with Escort.
  9. sniperx does not "make" the Sun Project M16s. He and his brother do some really cool upgrades for them however. My collection, give or take a couple, over the past year or so. Missing my Asahi M60E3 SDX and Asahi full-metal FNC.
  10. That is the bearings, not the mechbo itself. Replace the bearings, and that metal mechbox will run circles around a plastic one. Note that while MY bearings failed, others have put a LOT of rounds through theirs (likely at a lower spring strength I hypothesize) without a problem. I have no qualms about putting a spring far, far beyond the allowable limits of this forum in the CA249, which I highly doubt the STAR mechbox could withstand.
  11. Oh, no doubt. That is one of the reasons I don't respect them, although I'm ok with most of their products. However, that isn't how CA got brought up in this thread. The CA249 was brought up because that fellow said it has a faulty mechbox, and I have yet to see info on where that is the case.
  12. And you got that info from where? Please link these reviews you speak of. There is a CA249 thread on this very site where people have put extensive rounds through their CA249s without problems. The metal mechbox in the CA is going to be far more durable than a STAR plastic one. The CA one also features a quick-change spring.
  13. Why would you want a separate mechbox for the CA249? Just buy an extra CA mechbox since they have them listed on their site, once they become available.
  14. How is that different from a CA249 for example then? I see your point with a TOP PGC-converted SAW. I'll even give you the Asahi version since you need a gas rig (which I equate to having to get a battery anyway). Yes, I've had them all, except the STAR, in case someone needs to question it. That is the major problem I see with the gun currently. The easy electrical hookups are really nice, but lend to total gun failure versus being able to throw a stick mag in there during an emergency. The other part I'd like to see is extended testing at higher-than-allowed-to-be-disc
  15. Understand, just wanted to see your opinion. Metal AK receivers are very robust. The silly little piece that the stock screws to has always wobbled. LOL, I agre on both points, not that I've ever had the sight fall off. That is what loctite is for.
  16. Can you highlight where in your opinion this occurs on the TM AK?
  17. Well, most could go in the 1k thread, but whichever; 'tis all good. Asahi MINIMI: Asahi M60E1 DX: Shoei MP44: SP M16: http://www.lonestarairsoft.com/forums/down...p?do=file&id=95
  18. Easier to carry a couple hi-caps for field rules verification and quick loading under fire rather than filling a hi-cap, then having to empty that into the box mag. This isn't a cooking show where we're measuring ingredients into different bowls and mixing.
  19. Not necessarily. There are people that play more milsim ammo-restricted skirmishes where only standard mags are used for regular AEGs and 300rd M16 hi-caps for M249s for example. Plus what happens if the box mag jams or breaks down? Considering that has happened to me with TOP box mags long ago, it was nice to carry 1 or 2 M16 mags to load quickly into the gun and still be combat-effective instead of sitting in the staging area out of the action. I suppose if the STAR box mag breaks down, you could melt down the STAR gun to make lots of little pellets to hurl at people. All in good fun,
  20. Damn straight, and a burst of 6mm on anyone who would treat a M16/G3/MP5/AK as one. Score +1 for milsim!
  21. Um, no. From extensive engineering career interaction, I know the differences in development approach between cultures. Yes, they are serious about making AEGs. That is good, and their externals are excellent. They are improving which comes with a company getting more experience. Well-done. But it is the small details, not the overall product, that are telling about the development rigor practiced. I didn't follow the Ver3 reference.
  22. That they did. It always amuses me that it is ok to release several version to "get it right". Why not "get it right" the first time? Because they don't do the proper engineering and QC up front.
  23. I owned a G&G GR16-R5 for a short while. Although not a newer GR300, the internals were junk. The external build and cosmetics were wonderful, amongst the best I've seen out of an AEG. The pistonhead oring was sized incorrectly and didn't seal worth a damn. The hopup bucking was a joke also. The cylinder head was chintzy plastic and didn't fit well in the cylinder. Other than that....worked well, despite shooting at a much lower muzzle energy that it should have. So yes, I think my experience does qualify me to speak up. G&G, just like CA, probably noted all those issues
