  1. Thats right. I'm in "arnies elegant/blue" currently. {edit} How odd, I changed the skin to "IPboard" and its all back to how it was . The update must have changed my skin setting.... However the view new posts page the button links to dosn't appear... Rather strange. I get the "done" confirmation at the bottom but a blank screen.
  2. Not an urgent one, but is the "view new topics" option still in existance? Do i just need to find the new button for it .
  3. Get the chinese SUSAT from RSOV. Its not as nicley made as the other airsoft SUSATS, but the eye relif is much better, I wear goggles with a seperate low profile lower mask and I've not had any trouble with see through mine. I did, however, have to play around with the mount, there were some manufacturing defects that i had to grind out, AND i had to remove the peg that seats in the rail because it made the sight sit way off center. Considering its less than half the price of the STAR or GnG SUSATs its far superior in that you can use it with decent eyepro.
  4. I can't remember, and I can't find the thread i baught it off (here on arnies). If it helps the chamber is marked with "BARSTO .45ACP". I've done a quick search for Barsto, but can't find nout on that either.
  5. Probably, TBH I don't even know what thread is in the barrel! I assume its the "standard" thread, if there is such a thing. But there is no way I am buying a $10 from yankland, the postage, customs and all the hassle involved.... But yes, thats the part i need.
  6. Ok, I've been trying to find the old arty thread for hand drawn stuff, but i can't find it. Just let me see if the link works . http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=34007&l=cdd72b23cf&id=100001765800112
  7. I aggree, I have always liked the bare thread on the muzzle of a pistol.... don't know why... However, I do need a thread adaptor. If you notice in the video of my machine pistol the compensator... slips... I have an internally threaded barrel but i still need the adaptor. Does anybody have one spare that i can pay through the nose for, or know a shop that sells them? Thanks
  8. Sorry to double post, but i edited the video and rehosted it on youtube so here is the new version.
  9. Most of its either fairly simple, or better to work out your own way rather than do it mine I had a closeup picture a couple pages back (larger version of the picture in the video) compensator/ muzzle extention: I just got a plastic tube that was about the same diamater as the outer barrel, cut some slots in it to match the origonal. I painted the cuts to make it look like a tube of aluminium or steel that had been handsawed. Some of the guns where fitted with Cutts compensators, so you could just use one of those, but I prefer the homeade version Grip: My grip is a t
  10. You can burn out a silencer with a couple of mags through a standard rifle, so of corse sustained fire will burn a can. Watch to the end of the video up there and you will see the can smoking away after it was used. Of corse the shorter the barrel the worse it gets, due to more unburned powder passing the muzzle into the can, but also low powered (subson) ammo can help that. Long barrel and squibs is the way to go, but even then i wouldn't be running a belt in one go.
  11. True of all auto firearms, once you make the muzzle retort quieter than the action a better silence is useless. It's why you generally find subsonic ammunition when using them, as it reduces the noize of the action AND you don't get the "sonic crack" as the bullet flies. Disintegrating belt fed on full auto, you will never get that noize down much, even with a perfectly silent muzzle, the action and mountins of chaff flinging its way out the side of the gun will make a hell of a din.
  12. I have five of those things, every single one has as much teflon/PTFE tape as rubber. One of them dosn't leak... too badly... One dosn't leak, the other 4 will loose preassure over about a month, so I'm not worried too much. Can you have a poke at the insides of your guns to see if the breach/feed ramp is the same between the two.
  13. Probably, there are two very different versions of the gun. The crossman is a loose copy of maruzens second type, GIM only with a full magazine profile. I have the older version with GIM and external air, with a massive gap at the back of the mag for where the expansion chamber is for the external air AND the GIM feed. Still, it might work. But the crossman is only avalable in the US, and I don't want to import from a country that dosen't believe the UK exists. . Although CO2 powered and better semi auto*, that has me interested... Someone want to send me a pir of those bad boys .
  14. It looks similar, but unfortunatly thats not the part i need. I need the feeding ramp, not the nozzle/cylinder. The feed ramp is the breach part, just behind the hop that guides the BBs as they come out of the magazine. I have swapped parts between my two guns and i'm sure its just the one part at fault, I'm concidering modifying a more moddern hop unit with ramp so i can use different weight BBs. I normally use .25, and the hop is set for .2.
  15. Yes. At the end of the day, when you're winging about how heavy the AG36 has made your gun, and how your arms hurt, and how much it cost, and how you only fired it 3 times all day and never hit anything. then you sit down and have a little cry. - man points
  16. IMO no launcher is worth anything like that kind of money, all launchers are massivly overprice for what they are: a tube and some levers. The star AG36 is rather a good quality one, though, and does feal quite nice to hold. I'd say, if you have the money, and want one, get it! All it can do is dissapoint you and tire your arms with its weight .
  17. There is another project mentioned in the book from another company that has a similar box mag fitted into the shell port. They never could get it to work properly. I'd say stick it in the shell door, it looks nicer there, and you don't have to lenghten the pump arms beyond the magazine if it was foreward of there. I'd make a magwell and attach it to the gun, inside would be space for the gas line, and a feed tube similar to AEG so the mag can sit just a little bit lower. As you're using AEG mags it all fits nicley.
  18. as promised, the Childers-Dahlgren modification of a remmington 870r, pictured with a 10 and a 20 round box magazine. The gun spent 6 months in prototype phase, and if it had been given another 3 months it would have been ready for full production, changing the face of shotguns to this day. The magazines fed very well, almost perfectly, and the gun only had a few teething problems that would have been easly ironed out. It could have been the first sucsesfull detachable magazine shotgun, almost 30 years before anyone else got there.
  19. I have a book called "fighting shotguns" that has a few pages on a project for the m870 to change it from internal magazine to a removable box magazine. I'll scan in the pictures sometime, but the magazine looks very much like a plain 7.62 nato magazine, just a little bit wider than a doublestack when the shotgun mag is single stack.
  20. I'd say that only one end of that hose is connected, to the grip as that's where the maruzen shotguns get their gas from(rear of the reciever) and that the other end is disconected from an external gas rig. 'Corse I could be wrong.
  21. Currently shooting you in the face.

  22. I've tried that, twice now. I always fall foul of the screw holes. I've no idea how to cut those.
  23. As crazy as they are stupid, I can see the reasoning behind all of them. Exept one. What on earth does sticking scisors into a socket like that achieve, in theory or practace? I have no clue. But don't forget the redneck hands free kit
  24. Speaking of grips, I am looking for wood grips for my 1911s. My TM just needs plain government style checks, just like the origonal TM, but made from wood. For my bell (baby machine gun, shown above) I'm after smooth wood grips with the colt coin/emblem in it. Anyone know where to get simple grips like that? Thanks in advance.
