  1. This LiPo is the size of a mini, surely a mini fits in the handguard of a K/E if it fits in a C. http://www.onlybatterypacks.com/showitem.asp?ItemID=11802.40 Is the LiPo I bought. From what I've heard the SRC's have a smaller battery space than a standard G36, which is why I went with the Lipo. I'm hoping I can mod the foregrip to work if it doesnt already fit in with ease. It's all speculation untill all the stuff gets here so yeah =\
  2. Then I guess I'll be modifying the foregrip a little bit to get it in there =) I'm prepared to make it work! Do you own a SRC G36K AZN?
  3. Yeah, I'm willing to do mods necessary to fit the LiPo in there, if it even needs modifying. I will keep you up to date, it will probably be friday at the earliest that I get the gun and parts. The MOSFET stuff and the battery will be here before the weekend, the gun probably not, depends on when ASGI ships out the gun. It is UPS ground afterall.......... At least it's not DHFail I mean DHL.
  4. Thanks, I broke down and bought the SRC today. I'll keep you guys updated. I have a friend who has a CA, and I have held another CA in the store and was very pleased with the externals, although their internals are nothing short of abysmal for a base to work off of (really only thing salvagable is the gears, bushings, shell, and cylinder, everything else is in dire need of scrapping). I plan on comparing the two side by side. I did buy the STAR 140 rounders, after reading 4 more reviews saying they fed perfectly in other peep's Gen II SRC guns I figured why the heck not. I did get t
  5. Is there a particular midcap you recommend then? I'm reading a fair number of reviews saying that they are good to go, no feed issues at all in TM's or CA's and lock in firmly in SRC. I dont really want to dump 65$ on a box of 5 of them from Kastway if they are going to suck!!! I'm open for suggestions, honestly.
  6. Gentlemen, I need help (no duh ) I'm on the search for a new gun to add to my arsenal. I have to say that this is almost embarassing. I have preached, NO FRAKING PLASTIC GUNS for almsot 5 years to myself. I'm very hard on guns and thought what the heck it's time for something different then the usual M4's. I actually just sold all of my M4 magazines which is warranting my desire to NOT go back to them. So what am I saying? I'm saying I'm looking at G36's, specifically the K or E model. More specifically the TSD/SRC because of the price (let me elaborate): There is logic to the madn
  7. The only thing the CA shares with the TM is the fire selector portion. The rest of it (including how the gun shoots) is identical to the G&G which uses a heavily modified standard style wire switch block (like in a V2/V3 etc). The Marui V7 gearbox is hit or miss. I personally would not go over an M120 with that gearbox. It's about as fragile as the V2 is in my experience. If you want a solid gun that wont give you issues with gearbox failures use a CA or a G&G as a base. If you MUST have the DMR stock then I wish you luck with your G&P or TM convert! Failures have been p
  8. That would largely depend on where the force is being exerted. At least in my limited knowledge of stress concepts. If the force of the hammer is hitting primarily at the top edge of it, a straight edge there may be better for longevity because it directly transfers the energey through the large flat peice (and thus to the two screws holding it in. That explains the strange stress marks on the holes where the screws are located. Thats assuming it hits the top edge with the most force. If it hits uniformly then a rounded edge may help distribute it through the rest of the parts. My sp
  9. From my understanding, if you load a mag in and then charge the charging handle it will vent all the gas on the first shot. Something with the "firing pin's" mech going haywire and getting stuck open. So you have to pull back the bolt before inserting a fresh mag. I'd imagine this is only an issue with teh first mag loaded at a game and not something more serious that happens every reload? Could you make a video of the reciever wobble? I've shot a real AR-15, they are not terribly movement free either.
  10. No, you need a V3 Spring Guide for G&G and CA M14's Parts list for G&G M14's and CA M14's, taken directly from my M14 Review: V2/V3 Gears V3 Spring Guide AUG Airnozzle Short Motors Standard Cylinder Standard Spring Standard Piston Standard Piston Head G&G M14 Proprietary Cylinder Head G&G M14 Proprietary Tappet Plate 7mm Bushings/Bearings and 8mm bushing/bearings AUG Hop Up Unit 509mm Barrel (Full length) Standard Hop Up rubber
  11. I hear ya, keep in mind that "Gas in the mags" are a recent revival in airsoft. Getting the tech back to where it was is a matter of elaborating on the successes of GBB Pistols. Most of these systems are more or less an experiment if airsoft is ready to revert back. Most of these problems are minor, with the most serious ones being a cheap fix. (In fact the most serious one I can think of is probably the firing pin issues, which is solved by a little sanding, or maybe the charging handle, get a real one ) This gun is not for everyone, if you dont think that you can handle the cost then do
  12. Agreed, for a skirmish gun the FPS is consistent enough (largest deviation, ignoring the first shot, was only like 8 m/s) and the design is good enough. Now the issue is going to be whether we see an M16 or not... I hope we see one soon as thats the last thing I'm looking for in my Gas gun! The CO2 mag looks idiot proof enough, I wont be using the baseplate of the mag to remove the bulb though! Any word on the cost of the CO2 mags? Hopefuly cheaper or about the same price as the regular mags... that'd be wicked sweet.
  13. My G&P M16A4 had a slight upper reciever woble. Never bothered me much but on this it would. What were the other more minor problems so that if they dont get addressed we can fix them ourselves before operation? G&P Mags slated for release anytime soon? Like I said, the only thing holding me back right now is the magazines.
  14. Oi, I guess that made that decision easy! Care to elaborate a little bit more on "Major Quality Problems"
  15. Right now the only thing holding back the WA design in my mind is the cost of magazines and the quality of said magazines. If there was a WE M16A4, chosing between the G&P version and the WE would be very easy for me, WE by far, however if G&P released said magazines at even 10$ more than the WE Mags (making them 50) and still have the full functionality, then that'd make the decision impossible for me. I was planning on, today, purchasing a GBB M4 for the spring, now that G&P has released their modified WA's, the decision is that much harder. the 800$ min expendature at RWA for
  16. Hardly off topic, I think it's a very good topic to discuss for GBBs. First I'd like to point out that a good number of real military operators and police officers carry magazines with ammo down so you can use magpuls/rangerplates/tape-and-band magazine extractors. Some just do it because it makes reloading much easier. Makes for one smooth motion. I rarely get dirt on the inside of my mag pouches, the dump pouch is a different storey but in the mag pouches never. I use closed tops and they remain firmly and snugly closed. With a GBB like the WA's I would worry about the magazine feedlip
  17. My G&P Aimpoint V2 (Old aimpoint) Has survived it's fair share of rounds on a real M1A shooting .308. If this is truely on par with a .22LR you should be fine provided the G&P 553 is built decently. .22LR is pretty weak, only thing to worry about is the screws coming loose that hold it down or hold the frame together.
  18. What RS Charging handle are you using? My curiosity is peaked. Another question, what would happen if you JB welded a small plate onto the RS charging handle? Would that solve the issue entirely or be too problematic? I agree though it does look rather poorlymade. Huge disappointment but I suppose if you baby it it will be fine. (Thats something I will have trouble doing!)
  19. Having never taken apart a real AR-15 mag recently I cant trell you if this would work but I had the same idea when I saw the pics. IT wouldnt be that hard to buy REAL P-mags (which are cheaper then the airsoft ones btw) and using those instead. My guess is probably not though because of the way the innards mount into the standard AR mag. It would be awesome if they did though!
  20. Please note that the ICS's old grey is not as light as it is in photos. It's very dark and I personally think it looks better then the straight black. If you have ever seen the CA Vietnam series guns in person, the ICS grey is darker then that in person. I think by grey he means they lightened up the reciever color a little bit. Right now it's almost to black when the real AR-15 is a very dark ultra flat grey similiar to G&P's finish on their guns. If I can find a local seller for my gun this will be mine before the Holiday season... if I can't then I will have to wait till l Janu
  21. If you want the full bolt then buy a WA/Inokatsu. This system is designed as such for skirmishability not for looks. The whole point of this system is to make reliable feeding a possibility in a blow back gun. If it bothers you like it bothered me then just paint it black or take it someplace and have them permanetly die it black or what have you. CO2 mags are coming in January and they are supposedly able to use 12g CO2 cartridges? Thats what the rumour is I guess.
  22. 134A is a refrigerant designed as a freon replacement. Cant wait to hear mroe about the fps restrictor or w/e it is
  23. Coco: Thats awfull news! Sorry to see yours came broke! Maybe it got damaged in shipping somehow? An airbubble plus the compression and decompression cycle of an airplane can cause fractures like that! Hopefully you can get the part replaced and that this is a rare problem! Lupus: Did SAA clarify at all what they mean by "drop-in nozzle part that you can use to drop the velocity"?? I hope it's not something rediculous like the TM Velocity reducer =\ and something more like a heavier nozzle or something.
  24. [x] This! I couldnt agree more. The least they could do for us customers is at least send it along with the package if they dont want to produce a ton to put with the gun on launch. I think what AB is doing for us is wonderful and have decided against my previous decision to buy from ASGI/WGC and purchase from AB as the least I can do for how much help he is doing. I'm also very happy to see that WE is listening to our greifs and fixing them, although it does suck to be guiniea pigs for them at least it's getting resolved so more efficient gas systems can be designed in the futur
  25. Interesting developments being pointed out here. It would appear WE has done what WA did with their bolt stop in the multi metal versions. This is disappointing, but then again so is not having a real steel type bolt catch. Honestly whats the big deal with putting in a real bolt catch?! I understand there are some parts that need to touch the mag at the back but enough to replace a better designed bolt catch?! Ohh well this is still on my to buy list. I will most likely take the mags to a gas gun expert and have them work out any leaky mag issues before they start leaking. So far it
