Marui news for the "TM Festival" next week

Something about the proportions on the AKS-47 is off, maybe it's just me. That 8.4v nickel-based battery though. XD

WE AKS-74UN First Impressions (Pic heavy)

Yea. It's for the AKS-74u. I'll change out the lower handguard retainer soon. In any case I decided to re-do the barrel on my AK-74MN conversion. I was not really comfortable with the 2-piece barrel solution I came up with. So I ordered a WE AK PMC barrel and pinned the gas block. The AK PMC barrel is a tad too long so I'm going to chop the barrel a bit and find a 74 FSB with threads or buy a real steel one. Here's my WE rifles next to their real steel counterparts.

Was there a "how to" on switching out the gas tube to achieve the proper handguard gap?

    Blue nozzle, chamber cracked.

Anyone here having issues with the nozzle breaking?

I'd be in for a WE version.

    WE TA 2015, P90 review

3 out of 4 mags leaked when I got them. The silicone sealant fixed all the leaks.

Quick update: I got the W&S fire selector fitted. I'm waiting on the PMC top cover to see if I can get a better fitment.

I don't suppose anyone has measurements for a new one? :/

So I was able to bore out the Cyma barrel and sleeve it over the portion of the WE barrel where the front sight used to be. I think I'm going to use a decent sized steel set screw combined with metal epoxy reinforcement.

The front sight is straight it's just the lower handguard was canted for the picture. I'll ditch the "front sight thread" idea. I'll pick up some threading tools then.

So what I'll end up doing is dremeling off the front sight, keeping only the threading and then I'll thread the Cyma barrel. It should fit under the handguard.

One of my four mags leaks when inserted. However when I push it to the right, it stops. Any way fix?

That's actually a good idea. I'll look into it. Thank you!

I bought a Cyma AK-74MN and another WE AKS-74u I just need to adapt the WE hop-up chamber to the Cyma barrel. I have a WE AK PMC barrel and piston on the way, I may be able to use the PMC barrel instead.

I got the Z-parts trigger group and I can definitely feel the difference. I have a Wii Tech adjustable steel trigger bar coming in tomorrow. I also fixed magazine insertion over-travel using some thick tape. It will going to its first skirmish in three days. :>

    What about the trigger box?

I'm looking into purchasing one of these and I'm trying to compile some fixes I'll have to do in the lifetime of this gun: So far I see: 1) Leaking mags 2) WE standard pot metal trigger set 3) Hop-up chamber damage Let me know if I missed anything.

I used a real steel AK buffer. http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/199502-we-aks-74un-first-impressions-pic-heavy/page-25&do=findComment&comment=2758749

I e-mail'd Wii-Tech about the possibility of a steel trigger box. As of right now they said the only thing in the works is an "enhanced" steel hammer and an aluminum loading nozzle.

I'm using a RA-Tech set but I have confidence that the Wii-Tech trigger should be awesome.

So the parts from Wii-tech arrived. 1 day for order processing and 6 days from China to the East Coast. I got the sight rail, the firing pin sear, and full auto sear. The parts came really well packaged, individual bags for each part, bagged again, and then a hard plastic transparent "Wii Tech" card stapled to enclose the goods. The internal parts were well oiled and each was stamped "WT". The rear sight uses two allen keys and clamps onto the rear sight via the two divots cut into the bottom of the rear sight on both sides. The fit was really nice, the locking portion is actually flush with the body of the sight rail, the dark area around it is oil. The rail block is cut so you can still utilize the iron sights. I didn't take any pics of the firing pin sear because it was machined perfectly! Fit just like the stock one. The full auto sear had some differences, however it fit right in just like the stock part. Don't mind the big blob of oil on the Wii Tech part. I ran a couple of mags through it using both full-auto and semi-auto. Everything works perfect.

I really wish someone would make a steel trigger box, or at least an aluminum reinforced one.

I ordered the bolt lock sear, empty mag locker, and rear sight rail from the "Wii Tech". I will let you guys know how it goes.

The area above the firing pin retaining hole in this picture may crack (pic courtesy of RenagadeCow): Sometimes it may crack but will not affect the performance/usability of the gun, but sometimes it can crack and take the whole hammer portion with it.
