Tight bore and accuracy - a sea change?

Depending on the starting fps, it can up your power by as much as 20fps. This will give better range & 'perceived accuracy increase'.

Weather or not there is a real increase in accuracy I can't say, as I've not tested them side by side with like for like fps.

Hi guys,

I think this is really getting out of control, you can't just try to explain everything.

PROBLEM 1:

6.01>6.05>6.08?

PROBLEM 2:

Longer barrel>shorter barrel?

For now lets just put aside TK twist etc...

AND,everybody, please stop saying"I think it's that...",sorry but unless your a specialist in aerodynamics you don't know anything and it's just making the debate unecessary bigger.

I'm currently building and upgrating my M700 to be able to have the perfect test system,I currently have:

-hydrolic trigger system,NONE movement when you shoot

-CO2 regulator, fps can be adjusted very easely, and i'm going to buy a second one,and maybe change the first one so i have 2 very good regulators(so i can reach a 490:1 ratio, that means if the CO2 power source varie from 490psi,the output pressure will vary only 1psi),the nly prob will be fitting in the gun but i've foud a way to put one in the stock and one next to the scope

-every moving part has been tuned to have minimum wobble

-currently have the BSG hup up and also one with a custom V shape, but i'm mainly using the bsg

So my final problem,to test everything and especially BBs and fps influence over accuracy,i'm considereing buying the pax hop and a 6.01 barrel from pdi,is that a good idea?

by the way the barrel lengh influence is tru but up to a certain point (especially for aeg),the longer the barrel the more it bends and chances are that the bb will hit more imperfections thus being lees accurate, but for sniper rifle, even if this remains true the effect is less important.

So there is an ideal lengh for barrel(between 450 and 600,sorry havent been able to be more accurate)

thanks

plz if you want to ask questions or want to debate pm or even better mail me at magictomcat@hotmail.com

Most other people claim that it's around or between 250 mm and 350 mm. Of course there is no single optimal barrel length, because other things (BB weight, muzzle energy etc.) affect it.

As Santa gave me some cash for crimbo I thought I would get a 6.03 to try. When it turns up I will run 20 through the pdi 6.08 again, and then swap barrels, and put 20 through the 6.03 at 45 meters again. Will chrony both barrels as well.

Supplier has mailed me so may get it next week. Watch this space.

cool

And for the debate p5,dont forget the hop effect on the bb

If you zero the scope at 50m the bb will be above between 0 and 50m so the conical trajectory is only true for the horizontal spread

Magictomcat

Ps:for ideal barrel lengh im talking about sniper rifle and especialy gas
