Handsome Pete
Im looking into turning my m4 into an SFW and hate the idea of a PEQ. So following some inspiration from members off here I intend to rear wire the rifle and connect it to a battery in a Butt stock magpouch. I am technically speaking pretty poor at gearbox issues (expensive and bad experiences) however am happy un doing the rifle ad fitting tight bores, hops and taking it down. Just wondered how easy it was and what was involved? cheers
w00k1e
Well you're going to have to strip your gearbox down to nothing.. so if you're not that great at gearbox stuff this might not be for you. The channels are already present in the gearbox to wire to the rear and the wiring should look like this when finished: http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/...t&id=GE0721
Handsome Pete
Thanks for the quick reply. I wont order RAS then lol. Keep my forgrips as standard. cheers.
w00k1e
Edit: Suggested PEQ then re-read your original post... doh
Lance Jackass
With a new wiring set its quite easy, as long as you're confident at stripping down and rebuilding a gearbox. If you were just going to unsolder the wires from the trigger block and start soldering together your own wiring loom, then obviously it starts getting harder.
monkey530
It is pretty easy. Just make sure you don't lose the shims unless you also plan on reshimming. Are you going to make the new wire set, buy one or reuse your old wires? It is most likely easiest with a new wire set like Lance said.
Handsome Pete
Nah im not going to rear wire it now. Stripping down the gear box is something ive done by accident before on another weapon and has left it unusuable (for me anyway) so im just sticking with standard forgrips. Thanks for the contribution tho guys. cheers.
Lance Jackass
Sorry to bring this back, but i was giving this some thought earlier. What about buying an ACM gearbox, thats already rear wired?

Royal-Air-Force
I knew someone would link to the systema one. Unforunately im not on that sort of budget. Yet. The only one i can see on zero-one is the ICS one and i have no idea if that goes in a d-boys body. And it is expensive aswell. Oh its an M4 gearbox. Forgot to mention. Cheers, Rich.
