kevshin21
hey guys I have a echo 1 ak side folder http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?...roducts_id=2763 So since I need to change the spring, I was thinking maybe I should make this into a project gun. This gun is super long so my initial project would be to shorten it like hell and maybe upping the ROF (its so slow that you can dodge bullets!!). So can you help me chop down this ak? (any other suggestions are welcome. Links are extremely welcome)
mikoyan99
You could remove the stock, weaken the spring to lower the fps and up the rof, then perhaps cut it down to an ak-105 style lentgh? I've never seen a stockless 105, so it would be fairly unique: -matt
Docv400
Didn't you know it was long when you ordered it then I'd try and get hold of a complete 'short' front end, from a beta for example. Then you could swap them over as your mood/game site dictated. Long for woodland, short for CQB.
kevshin21
hmm if i did get a beta, how would i go about switching the front end?
dookieboy
Unscrewing it there are four under the body and some in the upper.
Docv400
What he said... Remove top cover, hold back bolt and remove hop adjuster 'finger tab' from end of hop adjuster arm. Remove inner cover plate securing screw (tiny one, front-left), release sprung rod from top cover rear latch piece, slide inner cover back and off. Turn gun over and remove 4 screws (2 in magwell, 2 in front of it) ans carefully slide front end forward to clear nozzle from hop, then tip the rear (of the front end) upwards and pull carefully clear of receiver. Assembly is the reverse.
