RacingManiac
Just the other day I decided that the look with the seam line on Hi-Capa 5.1's beavertail was really getting to me, so I took out sand paper and get down to getting rid of the seam line. Afterwards I resprayed it with some Tremclad Rust Paint(automotive) after prepping the surface with some 400 grit as the paint suggested. But I've noticed that the paint is not adhearing to the surface as well as I hoped and after only a few days its been wearing off just by holding the gun. So I wonder if anyone has experience painting these parts and what kind of paint or surface treatment they did beforehand to get the paint to stick properly?

Wild Gunman
You also want to be sure to seal it after you get the final coat of paint on.
Wege
perhaps some sort of painting paint called "etching primer"? What I did with the slide of my 1911, I used a standard 'red/brown' primer (often seen on cars.. ) and then painted over top of that. Wear has happened, but not much.
