I need a few things to finish it off but I can see this being the start of something expensive. thanks for all your help however my wallet is thinking differently
Gadge
Awesome come and say hi on he CiA forums, their is a whole group of guys doing German para there. Also i talk about German airborne loadouts in the next issue of AI mag!
Terry
Sweet loadout man, Im browsing some sites you listed and putting things together to make myself a loadout. i may end up just buying this though seeing as how everything i really need is there for a good price. German M40 Greatcoat
Gadge
Good coat but you could get tunic, trousers, gaiters and cap from Spearhead for the same price?
biguk
Whats the quality like from spearhead?
neoptolemus
I ordered an M38 helmet from them and after an initial error on their part (they sent me the wrong sized helmet with sloppy finish), they sent me the correct helmet with two free covers! They have good service, pricing, and most importantly the replicas are quality for the money. The helmet shell was well made with good finish, the liner was nice with stampings, and the covers were nice. I'd recommend them for certain items like their FJ stuff (short of the fliegerbluse). biguk
Cool well im certainly considering a WW2 loadout at the mo.
Gadge
For re-enactment you can get more accurate/high quality kit. For airsoft its absolutley perfect. Its a good price and if you shred an item its not the issue it would be wearing a 300 quid camo smock as opposed to a 30 quid one.
Gadge
Waffen SS article in next months AI mag btw guys.
Gadge
Additional piccies as I've had some more inquiries about this loadout via PM.
-Angel-
Heer tanker, niiice. Still can't decide if I like the collar edging or not.
Gadge
Pinks pretty early war/old sweat stuff. By 1943 it was just a plain black collar on most new uniforms. Other options are: Red for artillery like stugs Golden yellow for recce Black and white for pioneers
-Angel-
Sorry for the more off-topic, I think the guide and kit is quality, by the way I think i'm more drawn to mid-late war, maybe Lehr in Normandy. Tunic looks reasonable as is, just waiting on the rest of the insignia that are in the post: The '38 cap is my only reference to being an 'old sweat', but it could use a deeper pink soutach on the front, so it looks 'earlier'. Gadge
Thats a much nicer looking jacket and cap than mine, i had to sew my own soutache on made out of old shoulder board.
-Angel-
pirschen/Chen Wei/re-enactor box tunic, militaria-net cap. Really chuffed with them so far, and the trousers and overcoat from Chen too. Broke out the sewing skills to get the eagles on there and waiting on a parcel from epic to complete it [pink trim collar deathheads, bullion cap cockade & some shoulder buttons for the overcoat to put shoulderboards on it too]. I'll post up on CiA when I think its 'acceptable'.
Gadge
Some more late war ss pics... note marching boots are pretty exceptional rather than the rule with a type II oakleaf smock.. (and my 1000th post here!)
dog green 1
Good information Gadge. I'll post up some pics of the load out I hope to be wearing for the big airsoft event in December. It it happens that is.

Shrike6
Quick question: how hot is a german ensemble if you're wearing a camo smock over a standard uniform tunic with full battle rattle? I'm from SE Texas, and while the WWII bug bites me pretty frequently, I haven't made a purchase yet because of A.) the expense of starting a new loadout and armory and B.) SE Texas' heat and humidity can get positively disgusting.
-Angel-
A vast number of guys over here leave off the tunic and just wear the smock during the summer. Alternatively you can wear an HBT uniform instead of a woolen one.
Gadge
The third option is to have the collar and bib front cut off an old tunic and sewn into a smock front. Looks like you're wearing it all then. http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/vi...f=55&t=6468 second from last post.
