Vamp V^^V
Not to make your project idea seem inadequate... But.... *snip* I reckon that guy made a better one.... Wow. How many H+S procedures must that violate? You wouldn't want to slip while using it.
Hedganian
I don't think he was supervised by his local Health and Safety Executive while he made that...
Vamp V^^V
Good Lord! Someone alert the appropriate authorities, his superiors must be warned of this massive breach of procedure!

Vamp V^^V
To be clear, are we *actually* talking about putting a chainsaw underneath a real steel rifle? You know, an ACTUAL chainsaw underneath a real rifle?? If this seems sensible to you, then I think there is actually a problem here.
Involved6
If this seems sensible to you, then I think there is actually a problem here. It's the Gears virus. It has claimed another otherwise-sane mind

Vamp V^^V
There's already a perfect utensil for cutting your nails! It's called a machete scissors. And I'm a big Gears of War fan, but I draw the line at actually considering an assault rifle with a chainsaw underneath a sensible (or remotely acceptable) idea. Lol. Hedganian
But it looks cool!
Vamp V^^V
But it looks cool! Yes, and clearly that outweighs all the dangers and implications of having a very heavy, horrendously dangerous, unbalanced weapon underneath a gun never designed to have anything of the sort precariously balanced underneath... I'll be sure to remember how cool it looks once it ends up embedded in your fellow soldiers because someone tripped
Hedganian
Well, you're certainly a ray of sunshine....
Vamp V^^V
Lol I appreciate the humour ^^ I'm just not sure it's the most sensible idea ever to grace the battlefield....lol
Spartan117x
as well as a picture not posted--the chainsaw on a shotgun.
Hedganian
Looking at the way that idiot prances around and hacks mindlessly, I'm amazed that he didn't cut off his leg. It looked pretty close at one point. It just goes to show that whatever someone is mad enough to think up, some else will be stupid enough to try it for real
Vamp V^^V
Sadly.... There are some things that just really shouldn't be attempted. Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Safer than a bayonet like the M44 or T56. You can't turn off a bayonet.
Hedganian
Except that a single, fixed, unmoving piece of sharp metal won't painfully grind off your limb if you accidentally touch it - at worst you'll get a bit of a cut or gash
