famidesu
It is with caution I'm posting this as I don't know if mods or other members will get irritated. This has been the case with this thread on other forums, in particular one which I wont be naming here - where the thread was zero starred several times without any particular reason. Kinda drops the hype to keep doing research and posting about it, yeah? This forum seems to be much more mature than others so I might have better luck here. That said. If it's accepted - my intent with the thread isn't to show a few pics of a build - but to analyze, post pictures of modification, how it was done and why etc as well as questions of concern amongst other things. Here's a little guide on how to properly seat the slide catch (I know I had trouble the first times I did it, actually I just let it be for a week or two before I bothered again). And some comparisons. Some pics of the installed S.R.U - G34 Mechanic slide kit which was recently released and the rest. It contains: Slide (7075 aluminum) Outer Barrel (2 part, 6061 aluminum) Inner Barrel (steel) Hop-Rubber Rear Sight Front Sight Fiber Optics of higher quality. Thick & bright. Enjoy! icolater
Love that fox hound slide plate. Very cool. Also that slide is very unique looking never seen anything like it before, is that a glass piece over the bbu ??
famidesu
Thanks mate! When I saw it I knew it I knew it was a match made in heaven. Yeah, it's exactly why I got just this slide set and not the old cookie cutter stuff coming out from every machine shop. I'm actually not sure what material it is, but I'd say it's plexiglass. But it's a very very nice touch and extremely unique.
famidesu
A little update, I have a second build coming. Sadly I forgot to order the front pin to lock the trigger and slide lock in place so in the picture I'm using a pin I had from a Hi-Capa magwell. I also forgot to get the valve reset. I didn't find the slide set I really wanted yet, but I found another one that would be really nice as well. I'm not at all into the military stuff with correct markings and all that. Only competition pistol builds. That's why I'm not into the SAI builds either - and frankly, they bore the heck out of me. Sorry for being different. I have a pachmayr "grip glove" coming as well as a Shooters Design (Caspian MK II) slide set that I'm really looking forward to. I might attempt to polish the sides to a mirror finish. I got the replacement parts from Eagle 6. I had a WE hammer housing left from a slide kit I bought before I sold that so I'm using it on this build hoping it will mate correctly with all parts installed. Some other stuff incoming that I will be testing out 1 by 1. Saph Enhanced Muzzle Internal Parts Saph Stainless Steel Extended Magazine Catch Saph Aluminium Piston Head Saph Recoil Buffer ver. 2 Saph 150% Enhanced Steel Trigger Level Spring AIP Stainless Spring Plug kit x 2 Thunder Airsoft Silver Magwell Ready Fighter Grip Adapter (Black) Guns Modify TagGuarder OD Frame. famidesu
Just doing a quick update on these guys. It's been one heck of a process to get it to cycle. Geez. Had to file down the bbu carefully, the outer barrel chamber, the hop base some modifications to the hammer assembly...had to shave stuff inside the slide. ETC ETC. My other project - the Caspian MK II has almost been completed. The progress images will be uploaded at some other time when I feel like it. I modified the WE G17 hammer housing to fit and function just fine along with other things. The sights I bought just to replace the *suitcasey* OEM ones are also *suitcasey* - but at least they won't break. They're by the brand 5KU and did not fit without modifications. Careful filing did the work.
famidesu
Been a while since I posted here. Doesn't mean I haven't been thinkingand done stuff, just didn't have the energy to go on here to update.I thought about polishing the Caspian MkII slide for several months, but was afraid to mess it up so I waited and thought some more until I jumped on it.Started with P280 paper and noticed that the matte finish was really tough to get off, so I took this electric Bosch Mouse tool and sanded until the finish was gone. Then I proceeded to sand with the P280 again. Proceeded then with 1500 grit and lastly 2000. I haven't used the polishing stuff with a rag yet, since I don't have any - but it's on the order list.Thinking about doing a similar polishing finish on the magwell too!I also thought it'd be a good time to start modifying the lower frame as well. So Itook the original Marui one and went on with it. Used the UAC stippling tool. However it doesn't work when you want to make those rounded edges - so I'll haveto make a custom tip to match the UAC tool marks and finish it off. Results!I'm really annoyed about the G34 slide. It looks like "DE" in certain light situationsand very OD in others. Each time I take and put the slide on the OD body, it looks off. I don't know. These are the problems of people who bothers about details too much. :/ Anyone have opinions?
paranoiddroid
I do like the look of it on the OD frame even though it is much lighter very reminiscent of the SCAR and the way the polymer and the metal are slightly different shades.

Hmmm...you might be on to something there! I always thought the color on this slide was a bit weird - but I think I'll get used to it. I'll be doing some assembly tomorrow and see how it turns out! famidesu
Thanks paranoiddroid! Looks much better now. Also decided thata colored trigger safety will be distracting so I took the flat blackone and sanded it carefully by first using the Mouse sanding tooland then cleaned up the round scuffs with 280 paper and finishedoff with 1500 and 2000 and lastly I rubbed it with a special finealuminum rag(? dunno the name of it in English) that includessome sort of soap to make it shine. Now it's nice.Debating on wether to cut the trigger guard on this one or not. Will need a magwell.
Pdubyuh
Dude this thread has more than enough value you could just re-name it sexy glocks and I'd still be happy and that's not taking into account the useful info regarding fitting new bits, zero starring you idiots. Keep up the good work!
famidesu
That brought a small tear into my eye. Thank you!
