Arnie
I'd expect more from a paper such as the Telegraph.. anyway (today's edition). On the front page "CO19" are referenced as a police unit. Best of my knowledge it's called "SO19", a division of the Metropolitan Police. Page 2 there's a headline reference to "Gun Police" storming a building... I mean that's just crass on so many levels. "Firearms officers", or "Armed Police" would actually be so much more accurate and at least sound like we're talkign like grown-ups. Be nice to see a broadsheet paper printing something that encourages public respect in the Police (specifically armed units) rather than fear.
HaVoC
'Gun Police' - that's great. What, are they walking around with toys and shouting 'Bang!' at the terrorists?
Sledge
I was reading similar stuff in the Sun, but you expect it there. The Telegraph? The country's going to hell in a handcart. *Begins long Richard Littlejohn-esque rant as everyone wanders off*
ENGLISHFELLOW
you should watch FOX NEWS's coverage of the london situation. They make it seem like british storm troopers are hunting down and murdering the terrorists like paramilitary renegades.
ferg981
Fox has never been renowned for its news coverage though. I know none of my american friends take it seriously. Hence the fact it always gets ribbed on the Simpsons. LOL FERG

Frangible
Of course the national media is all part of the plan of the Lizard People to brainwash us.. But yes, mainstream media commentary is dumbing-down.. Perhaps it's due to the more market-driven economy we live in? They've all got to compete for the global/national share and so hype sells and the culture of the ill-informed commentary/exclusive thrives, unfortunately.. For all its obvious flaws I like the old t'interweb to get news from and sort the wheat from the chaff in my own mind.. too many mainstream publications and programs seem to have their own self-perpetuating agendas these days. Or maybe it's just the Lizard People...? Cheers F
HaVoC
Ah right, that's your problem right there. EDIT: The BBC, I mean.
Hammer.45
Well, the BBC referred to G36Cs as 'sub-machine guns' the other day, and my parents got annoyed when I roared at the TV (cause there ASSAULT RIFLES, NOT *fruitcage* SUBS!!) /rant

ENGLISHFELLOW
I'm sorry, if they can't get those details right, why should we trust anything else they write/say? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> because the gun isnt the main focus of the story. Its just a tool the police use. A gun is a gun. It still sprays bullets no matter what type it is.
