CALLAHAN_88
I have baught an Safariland 6004 for Glock! Now the big question does the TM Glock 17 3:gen fit this holster?
Sale
Which model did you buy? The holster for the Glock 20/21 should hold the TM G17 just fine.
Sonny
I have a Safariland 6004 for the Glock 17, and my TM Glock 17 v3 fits a little bit tight. Where as my KSC Glock 18c fits it perfectly.
yubbermax
I have a Safariland 6004 for the Glock 17, and my TM Glock 17 v3 fits a little bit tight. Where as my KSC Glock 18c fits it perfectly. I read somewhere that the TM Glock is a little wider then the real steel.
Sale
Here's the deal how to make a TM Glock 17 fit a SERPA holster. I haven't tried it in a Safariland or other holsters though. It is not significantly wider than the real one, but rather a bit higher.
Magsz
Sale, what process did you follow in order to remove the material? Fine grain sandpaper?
Belladonna
a file, till it fits... R
Magsz
Id prefer not to destroy the surface with "a file". I have some jewelers files that would do the job as they're extremely delicate but i doubt i could hand file it as evenly as i would like. I was specifically asking what method sale used as it appears as though he did a fantastic job.
Sale
Sorry to break it to you Magsz, but I used a bog standard file. The surface is supposed to have a bit of a rough texture. Any smooth methods would have made it shiny or at least very different compared to the original. Tips: Stand when you file and tilt the file towards yourself instead of away from you. -Sale
Magsz
Cool man, good tips. Thank you. Im planning on purchasing a glock 17 sometime before the end of the year so ill definitely be performing this mod. Ill use my jewelers files and go slow. The reason why i asked is because i wasnt sure exactly what the g17 frame is made out of. I recently filed a real steel hogue ar15 pistol grip to fit my PTW and the darned material looked terrible once i was done with it. It was some sort of composite and no matter what i did i just couldnt get it to smooth itself out. Good thing it was on the inside of the grip and wasnt visible anywhere. CALLAHAN_88
Got my 2 glocks now and they fit but it´s a little bit tight! I think it will get better in time with some wear in!
CALLAHAN_88
After some time the Glock fits just fine now! Have not filed or anyting on the pistol or the holster. I just put i piece of paper one one side of the pistol and put it in the holster and let it be there fore some time!
Rogue845
Why is everybody talking about filing their guns down? My TM Glock fits into my Safariland just fine. All I had to do was loosen a bolt on the holster - the one closest to the trigger. The gun still fits snugly and there is no chance of it going anywhere unless I draw the gun. Sale
Why is everybody talking about filing their guns down? Have you read this thread? The soft lining of Safariland holsters seems to have enough "give", that it gets loose enough after a while, like Callahan_88 reported. The SERPA holsters are hard through and through, and you will need to file the frame to get a similar fit as with a real Glock. -Sale
Rogue845
Have you read this thread? The SERPA holsters are hard through and through, and you will need to file the frame to get a similar fit as with a real Glock. -Sale Have you read this thread? We're not talking about SERPA holsters. Did you read my post? You don't need to file the gun down to get it into the holster, just loosen the aforementioned bolt to get the holster to grip the gun as hard as you want it to.
Sale
If you had read this thread to begin with, you would have known that's the reason why people file the frames: Hard holsters, and the fact that TM Glocks have different dimensions compared to real ones. The original poster was wondering whether there would be problems with a Safariland, as it is a hard holster. You asked a question even though it was answered before already. The posts right before yours already stated that the Safariland did not require the TM Glock to be filed, so it was unnecessary of you to chime in and ask a dumb question to indicate that my advice wasn't necessary. Even with the Safariland 6004, people are reporting tightness with TM, compared to KSC and real Glocks, so the frame modification may be useful to them. As for the bolt you "found", congratulations. That's the manufacturer specified retention adjustment screw, which you should adjust no matter if you're using a real Glock or a replica of any brand. -Sale
Rogue845
First, I don't want this to get hostile or narky - I hate discussing /argueing with people on the internet, people just assume it's hostile. Second, I didn't say I 'found it' - I just pointed it out because no-one seemed to be considering it and going straight for the files and modding their guns when they don't really need to. (Actually, if I'm being honest, I did 'find' the bolt - my holster was 2nd hand and didn't come with a manual. I was having major dramas getting my TM Glock in and out until I started experimenting ) I guess the point I was trying to make - but didn't make it clearly - was just to say 'whoa, slow down before you go doing something like filing the gun down'. Simple things often get overlooked, and we as airsofters tend to go straight for the 'mod' option. I nearly cut my CASV fore-end to get the battery cable out to a battery box, until I found the gap at the back was plenty big enough. No offence intended, threadjack over. Architect
The power of the search button - brought this one back from 07 ha ha! WHAT IS THE CORRECT SAFARILAND FOR A TM GLOCK 17 CUSTOM? I have bought a Safariland 6004 for Glock 17 w/M3. The problem is that my TM Glock 17 Custom and M3 doesnt fit. Like I have to almost hammer it in there, and then there is no way of getting it out I have unscrewed all the screws possible, and even taken them out - with no result. I don't mind selling the holster, as it obviously isnt right - but what safariland can I get to replace it?
