  1. I think I'd draw the line at BUIS, but that's just my arbitrary line. And I'll add in an older picture... Top Rifle: G&P M4 Commando Base Recently switched to a Troy Lower receiver (Colt lower broke) Troy MRF-C Rail YHM Flip Up Front Sight Troy Rear Sight Magpul M93A2 w/HK hook and Strike Plate (mounted with G&P stock adapter) Magpul MIAD (on the way because I made a stupid mistake and now need a new grip) PGC 2 piece Mechbox Prometheus high speed gearset Systema high torque motor Prometheus TB barrel AWS AB Mosfet Bottom Rifle (has been sold):
  2. How many of them are actually yours? And what's with counting mags and/or bolt (rail mounted) parts? Back in the day it was about parts that were hard onto the gun, not lasers and lights and VFG's and scopes. But then again all you'd need to break $1k is a WA pistol, full metal kit, steel chamber/barrel/hammer/sear.
  3. That's a newer iteration of the Mk.12 Mod 0. Original Mk.12 Mod 0's had PRI Gen II FF forearms with ARMS #23-SPR-PEQ-2 sleeves. That has a Gen. III style forearm with a ARMS #23-SPR-PEQ-2-3 sleeve. Gen. III stuff is exponentially better than the Gen. II I'm only being nit-picky because that's how you fit in over here.
  4. Or you could sell it to me for cheap

  6. New project teaser. WA GBB base with real steel upper. The barrel causes a gap between the barrel nut and upper but I don't care.
  7. Just buy the real KAC ambi mag release. It's not much more than a G&P one. Probably won't work with you anti rotation pins though.
  8. Yeah but it's still a better color than the real one. The real one looks like it's been painted with with gold spray paint meant for patio furniture. The CA at least has a more tan-ish hue to it, more champagne than gold.
  9. With as many parts as I have changed on my WOC, one part that I have never wanted to change has been the hopup system. I have changed the rubber to the RATech red hop bucking, but the actual hopup system gives me greater range and accuracy than my Pro-Win mechbox'd M4 and on par or a little better than my teammates' best AEG's. It was truly surprising and I'm sure the .30g BB's had a lot to do with it.
  10. When I had a G&P body my favorite was GHK. They were $45 brand new, hold gas fine, feed fine, lock back the bolt every time. There were tight in the magwell but I worked them in so that I could pull them out easily and I actually like that they didn't drop free because the last thing I want is a gas mag hitting the floor. They chrono'd about 10fps lower than a WA mag, but I saw them as the best all around especially when considering price. Now that I'm using a Prime body, the Pro-Win wins out. It's better than the GHK in every way other than price. Fits perfectly in my Prime, but
  11. There's a reason why G&P's mags were recalled from all the stores, and it's probably not because they were awesome. Get some WA's, Bombers, GHK's or Pro-Wins. No mags right now are completely plug and play with everything.
  12. If your out to a game for 8 hours or more a day, that gun can get pretty uncomfortable to hold in the most accurate position all the time. You'll see many videos of soldiers in the battlefield holding their guns as close to the center of gravity as possible because due to comfort issues of prolonged battle. But that AFG was designed for positive control with you supporting hand out in front of you. I'm not saying remove it, but I find that if I'm holding the rifle that close to the magwell it's more comfortable to have my hand more vertical (doing that would also keep your supporting arm clear
  13. Surefire also makes ones that look like that of you want something that's not going to get slick and shiny really fast. That design is my current favorite.
  14. Whatever it is, it's quite awesome and I can't wait to not pay $800 for a set. Well, I can wait, but I really want a set of AOR2/digi3/NWU Type III

You mean drop the mag? It all depends. If the mag falls on the feed lips and breaks them then no. If the mag cracks an important part then no. If the mag falls on a ranger plate and then softly tilts over then probably. Dropping gas mags is not a good idea.
  16. Eventually, didn't bring my gear to work. I'm also planning to make hard side plates, after seeing some in person it shouldn't be hard to replicate the single curve.
  17. Just got my Kifaru G2 E&E which is quite ideal for use as a MAP style pack and just fits on my paraclete carrier. Now I need to get out and use it.

I really think the key to this system is a good bolt to bolt carrier seal with very little resistance. All of my problems have come from that seal. After finally fixing that issue I haven't had a problem. Oh, I do notice my nozzle getting a little deformed after a while, but I can't confirm if it just kind of breaks in or continues to get deformed. It worked perfectly until that particular jam. Now I've replaced my parts and I'm back to a new nozzle tip and new hopup rubber. I'd invest in the RATech (unless the AABB one is good) NPAS bolt (with spare tips) and hopup rubbers (whatev

I'd probably get a Prometheus Hard Rubber. That being said, I haven't heard great results from AEG barrels in this system when compared to the WA style hopup. G&P Hopup, RATech (or G&P/Stock) barrel and RATech red bucking are what I use and get great results. Even then I have had a tear in my bucking due to a really bad jam chopping up BB's and me stupidly hitting the forward assist.
  20. Take out the release valve. Take it apart. Clean the cylinders. Clean the O-rings. Oil the O-rings lightly. Oil the moving parts slightly. Re-assemble and test. If it still leaks, measure the o-rings and possibly find a slightly thicker substitute; or try wrapping a couple layers of teflon under the o-ring in the moving portion of the valve.
  21. They're OK for pistols. But they don't hold enough to support a GBB M4 for a full day OP. But the HSGI and ATS pouches are scalable. The HSGI is pretty low profile when cinched down and the ATS can be rolled up: And the entire setup, in its highest profile doesn't increase width over my plate carrier. My main idea was to scale pouches vertically in order to not be the michelin man like in my Avatar.
  22. CTOMS QRPS HSGI 2Quart acting as a butt pack ATS Medium Utility EMDOM Dumper Paraclete CANSOF Small Utility Front Left/Back Right I run a drop leg holster on my left side hence the left side is pretty bare (ATS utility fits well behind my pistol draw). I might add pistol pouches... but maybe on my plate carrier instead of the belt. I haven't ran the setup yet, but I plan to just keep propane, BB's, spent mags, gun oil, propane adapter, sling and maybe some driver bits on the setup with most of the weight being the propane tank.
  23. I think I need an HPC w/ CB in Smoke Green now.
  24. Do both sizes of the EPC w/CB have the same real estate? I noticed the opposite with one CIRAS that was made by Phantom (Pantac), it had 6 across the chest instead of 8.
  25. I wish I still had pictures of my old HPC. I sold it quickly after I got it in 2005 because I got it as a trade for my RAV and I wanted to get a Callahan Plate Carrier. But if this is the way the HPC's are these days (of course the newest versions have the snaps) then I definitely want to get one in smoke green.
