  1. Thanks LJ, Yeah, when you're buying cartridges, you really only need enough to fill a magazine, if that (unless you get spare mags too). I miss the fact that it doesn't fire anything. It would be great to have BBs flying out of the front at 1J so you could plink and skirmish with it, but that would also make it illegal in the UK. Working within the UK's legal framework, this is about the most realistic thing you can buy, that isn't going to bring you in to conflict with the authorities. I know of a couple of people who have actually built a working PFC MP5 prototype and have b
  2. Cheers Twitch. They are wonderful collectors pieces. True, the cleaning can be a bit of a pain, but I personally get enjoyment out of cleaning and reloading the cartridges. They are great fun to shoot though.
  3. Exactly. It's got it's own mention in the Forum Rules now anyway, so abusers of the system have little excuse for messing about.
  4. Moderating tools are on their way for this system so we can undo the work of misuse on request. If people abuse the system, we should be able to sort things out pretty easily - just let a moderator know. In any case, abuse will be considered 'against forum rules' and 'antisocial behaviour', so warning points, suspensions and bans could find their way to people who try to ruin things for the rest of us.
  5. Hmmm, no idea I'm afraid. I can only guess that Arn was tweaking it and made a change to the database at the same time you added your point. Your best bet is to add the point again. I don't think there is currently a way of tracking outgoing point assignments, but there aren't any moderating tools for this feature at the moment either. I know these are on their way, so more features may well appear over the next few days as the system is perfected. Hope that helps...
  6. Hmmmm, 6 of mine disappeared too. The system is being tweaked and I guess that could lead to some data being lost until things are finalized? When did you give him the point? Was it in the first couple of hours of the system going on-line (that's when I lost mine)?
  7. It was put in about a week ago. Forums where your post count will NOT go up include the For Sale forums, Off Topic, Humor, and the Arnie-Geddon forum. Post counts will increment as normal when posting in the Airsoft forums, and those not listed above.
  8. Weird - All the points I have been given in the last 10 minutes have been scrubbed?!? I think it is still being tweaked
  9. You should have 1 Plus point on your account now - (Just testing you understand)
  10. It's still being installed at the moment. Once fully integrated, other users will have the ability to add or remove "reputation points" on your account based on your posts. If you post lots of helpful info, your rep will go up. If you spam or act in an unbecoming fashion, it will go down. Kind of like the post count, only it is based on how useful, helpful, relevant your posts are, rather than how many posts you create.
  11. Good review. Photos would make it great Cheers Outlaw. (thread moved to "Reader's Reviews" section)
  12. Not necessarily. The 'Banning' option is more likely reserved for those who repeatedly refuse to supply any real info, but keep posting trade threads, or those who supply wrong information in an attempt to pull off a con. My advice is, if someone you are trading with isn't happy with the G-Mail address, give them your School email address. If you can't give them this address for any reason, explain this to them, and as long as you have played fair you're not going to get banned. At the end of the day, if someone isn't happy with a G-Mail address, they can always refuse to trade with yo
  13. Have updated the main For Sale Forum Rules announcement to match... http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...t=announce&id=3 EDIT: I have also rationalised the For Sale Guidelines, as there were two different sets of rules. Everything should point to the right place now You can verify people's home addresses by getting them to send you a photo of a recent utility bill (date showing), on top of a newspaper / magazine published within the last 2 weeks. You can also ask for "on-the-fly" additions to the photos (i.e. you ask the trader to make a sign with his hand in t
  14. Making the search button bigger isn't going to help. There are Soooooo many threads at the moment where our users have pointed out this useful little feature, yet the cretins still seem to miss it. They don't WANT to search, and even if they did, could they use it properly? If someone blatently doesn't search, inform them of this nicely and then hit the "Report" button. The thread will be closed and the fighting will stop. Many thanks.
  15. This is going to make things like choosing the location for the next Arnie-Geddon event (based on the prime location for most players) soooooo much easier. C'mon chaps (and chappettes), add your location - it can only be a good thing
  16. Also worth noting, signature images should be no larger than 400px x 100px. http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...p?showtopic=388
  17. Yup, received it. Cheers Anyone else got questions for the Arnie Interview? If so, PM them to me.
  18. Already on it. If anyone has any questions they want answered, PM them to me and I'll do an interview with the big man in the next week or so. (I can't promise to use all submitted questions, but good ones should make it in)
  19. There seems to be an intermittend problem with communication between the forum software and the SQL database backend. The problem is being looked at at the moment, but might result in temporary loss of database access for about 30 seconds at a time until it is resolved. One or two double posts may also occur as a result of this issue. Everything should be back on track soon. Apologies for the inconvenience chaps.
  20. I quite like that, but isn't that the most pointless accessory rail in history?
  21. Easier still is to hit the "Reply" button. This will add the quote to the top of your post, and allow you to see it on screen in code form while you edit. The "Quote" button is meant for quoting multiple posts in the same reply, although if only used once, it does work in a similar way to the reply function.
  22. Already exists - twice 1. There's a thread in Off Topic where people are furiously posting photos of themselves looking as funky as possible, and... 2. Every user has a profile page where a personal photo can be uploaded for everyone to see. ...Or do you mean user photo galleries? If so, read this thread again (from the start).
  23. I like the map idea too. I also just found some others. I put them in my Personal Note Pad when the new site first opened and they still could do with being added... Tooltips for abbreviations in posts, Change colour of hyperlinks in posts for easier recognition (black just looks like underlined text), Web addresses to auto-hyperlink without the need for "http://", "5 most recent posts" list at top of forum index, A page that predicts the correct lottery numbers for the coming week. Okay, forget the last one, but the others would be really handy. Cheers
  24. And a big welcome to our new moderator - Crazy Harry. For those of you who don't know, Harry was a moderator on the old forums (pre-Semtember 04), and did a really good job as 'Mulder'. He's a great guy and very helpful, so I'm sure everyone's going to join me in welcome him back to global moderation on the forums. More moderators are also still being considered.
  25. Cheers for the offer Crazy/Mulder/Harry (I have no idea what to call you now ) I'll pass the info on to Arnie for you.
