  1. Yeah but I don't think a sliding baseplate is going to hold 800+ PSI from the CO2 caplet. Plus I don't think you could slide the base in to break the seal on the capsule. Unfotuneately Buddy doesn't have any extra valve bits right now. The nail thing works but I'd like to fire BBs at more than 20 FPS...
  2. Hur hur. How were those done, if you don't mind me asking? Specifically the "The Affairs of Daura" one. Or were they all just purchased?
  3. Got it, thanks! The two bars that connect the ring and the solid brass part with the o-ring snapped. Might have been able to superglue it back together for a short time, but then I accidentally snapped it further when I was trying to get the valve apart earlier. I'm probably going to plug the nozzle to see if I can try to dry fire a bit more while I wait for replacement parts to arrive. I think I'm only the second to have this problem, but in time I could see this possibly becoming a bit of an issue. I'm not sure of the stress life of brass, but the two little bars look awfully th
  4. How do you get the nozzle/float valve assembly apart? Specifically I'm trying to remove the silver rod from the brass nozzle up front to get to the worky bits inside. Some things popped loose or broke and I want to see if there's any chance of repair. I'm guessing it must have been the reason for the inconsistencies I've been having. It looks like there's a small brass plus that screws into the back, but I tried to unscrew it with a decent amount of force with no luck. I'm afraid any more force will break or deform something. Edit: Well if it was broken before I'm pretty sure
  5. Okay back in the will. You're probably not going to be able to get more than a few guitar picks though. :)

  6. Wow. I don't know exactly what it is about those pics beretta, but they are stunning. I'm assuming that's the WA? Heh, thanks. I love to be noticed. The water is far from original, and in this case it was quite accidental as it started to drizzle just as I went outside.
  7. There was one place that might be of help, but I have to look it up. Is it the old charging handle or the new supposedly steel one? Depending on where it broke you also might be able to do a "good enough" repair. Mine broke at the very front and I was able to epoxy and re-enforce it with some extra steel and epoxy dough. Probably won't last forever but long enough for a replacement to arrive. Edit: Gah, nevermind. They don't ship internationally. Not sure if this is worth mentioning but if it's just the latch that broke you should probably use a rubber band to keep the char
  8. Huh, I hope it'll be here soon. I sent payment on the 7th, so I'm hoping AB just forgot to send tracking. If it's not here by the end of the week I'm going to email him.
  9. Thanks. That's a bit more expensive than I was expecting, but after some research this stuff seems to be a bit more specialty than I though. I might have to ask some one I know if he can get a hold of some for me. I was thinking that too, but (even though not a great example) Maruzen managed to pull it off. If you only need to get off 35 rounds per mag it should be fine, considering that the MP5 bolt should only have to move a fraction of an M4's. About how long did it take for it to get to you after you sent payment? I haven't heard from AB yet, so I'm hoping he jus
  10. This Krytox, where can you get it and what is it normally used for? I went to a few different stores today to get some stuff and none of them had it. None of the people I talked to had even heard of it (unsurprisingly, as its new to me as well). I'm also having a few problems with my WE cycling when loaded with BBs. I haven't had a good look at it yet but I think it might be the o-ring as it looked slightly damaged last time I looked at it. Not sure if something's wrong with the float valve that might be causing it, but I haven't touched that.
  11. Possibly, but I really don't know a thing about gas systems like this (hence me using a little dinky adapter rather than a full size HPA/CO2 rig). I think I should be pretty safe since I've actually never experienced liquid CO2 getting into the system. I've actually tried everything I could think of to get it to. Should only be a slightly bigger problem than propane getting in there though, right? Are you sure he didn't mean $.95 for the washer and $5 for shipping? If the washers do cost that much there's already two other ways (one significantly more cost effective) to get
  12. I hope these aren't based on the WA. I'm glad that GBB assault rifles are being produced and for pretty cheap in most cases, but for the love of god stop copying the WA! I wouldn't mind a few more original models either. Understandably M4s are popular and it's "safe" to make them, but if you were to make an MP5 or a G3 or something along the lines you would have zero competition for at least a while.
  13. Yes and no. The setup is basically how you describe, but the performance was overall better than propane. Really the only thing worse was gas mileage, but everything else was noticeably better. I only tried it once though because I'm almost out of CO2 capsules. Click here for a quick pic of the setup. It's probably not ideal but it's worked with a lot of other GBBs. The WE mag looks like it holds more propane than the CO2 capsule, but I would expect liquid CO2 to produce more gas than liquid propane because it requires more pressure to condense it. My understanding of physics an
  14. Excellent, thanks! I tried hooking one of those KWC CO2 rigs (the ones that run off of the 12g bulbs) to a mag to see how it performed. With the regulator turned up slightly higher than what I think propane pressure is, the WE cycled slightly faster and cooldown was less evident. Unfortunately, after only 25 or so rounds of fairly rapid bursting I noticed a significant drop in performance. I wasn't counting exactly how many shots I fired but I'm sure I got less than 60 rounds total before I ran out of gas, and by then the bulb was very frosty. All of this was in an about 65F enviro
  15. Stupid question: Which direction do I turn the hop up adjustment to turn it down? Clockwise or counterclockwise if looking at it from the firer's view? I know I could just test it, but I could also just ask. Also, I often have a problem with the bolt and charging handle locking in place after I put the two halves of the receiver back together. I dunno why it does it, or what I do to fix it (usually pulling on the charging handle after taking it apart again). Any insights?
  16. Can definitely agree that the WE has a few problems, but I wouldn't call them nagging, since almost all are easily fixed. I've only just received mine (Thanks poison!), and it's a third-hand original model. I've read of the rubber washer tearing, but what does it look like it tears on? The inside of the piston looks pretty smooth, and when I looked briefly at mine it doesn't look like the head leaves the piston. There was also a solution posted a few pages back (I couldn't find it) which mentioned using a TM 1911 piston head o-ring. It seems like all GBBs have the same inner cylinder
  17. A replacement from Airsoft Buddy only cost me $15 shipped. Why not just get that?
  18. Is the dustcover on that frame square? If so what is it? It makes it look really weird and un-1911-like. Almost reminds me of a Hi-Power, I think. That's not to say that it doesn't look good. Edit: Maybe not an HP, but definitely reminds me of something.
  19. I liked this picture and wanted to try something other than just a simple background for my desktop: I think I like it. If some one could also help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated. The standard icons are fine by me, but I know some one that's been looking for a clean desktop with only one of those scrolling menu bar things.
  20. A recently acquired MP5 AEG with a freakishly long King Arms suppressor and my good ol' Maruzen Skorpion. Both of which are laying on ice from a recent storm, so I call this photo "SMGs On Ice." It's quite original, no?
  21. About how long does it take Airsoft Buddy to reply to emails? I know I'm an impatient bugger and he's a busy guy, but I've been waiting 3 days now. I need to buy some parts!
  22. Uhh, where's the rest of the thread? I'm not the only one that can't see it, right? Edit: What the hell just happened? Now it looks like everything's back to normal... Edit 2: Well anyway, about how long does it take Airsoft Buddy to reply to emails nowadays? I know I'm supposed to be patient, but I'm too excited.
  23. Normally I'd agree but the faux ivory looks really good in my opinion. Beautiful 1911, baias6230.
  24. Just to confirm, this will fit on the WE with no modification, right? I know I've read that RS charging handles grab onto a different part of the bolt, but still work, but with my luck I don't think I would have any problem ordering something that is completely useless to me. Edit: Has anyone ever ordered from that site before? How is it?
  25. That's quite nice looking. The polished parts look a little scratched though. Not sure what that last part is about though. crackisbad would probably be the one to talk to... Anyhow, here is my WA 1911A1 with a few new parts installed. I didn't think I like the flat MSH but now I feels better than the curved, so I'm glad I bought it even though it's a different color. Also put in a steel barrel and chamber set and a full steel recoil spring and guide setup, but I'm not sure whether or not to polish the barrel and chamber. The steel bits really make up for the weig
