Haha, didn't think that maybe "recruiters" might be seen in a military way here

Just a regular office job, in IT. Recruiter told me I had an interview in bristol. Booked the day off, bought non-refundable train ticket. Then it turned out the recruiter hadn't even passed on my CV!

Claim it back from them, as they should have recorded the fact you did or didn't get the call. If they can't prove it either you win .
