Pretty much the cheapest way would be to go for a JG M733 then add an M4A1 type outer barrel (don't scrimp on this, use a metal one piece type barrel). Then add a few early 90's 'spec-ops' features, e.g. flashlight and mount. Then you'd end up with this, pretty much (although this is not JG based. TM version I believe):

I have to agree with RC-1138. My clone M4 Benelli was fairly awful even for the price. It was mostly the fact that the poor QC meant that it would not feed, from clone or TM shells. Plus it was seam ridden as RC-1138 mentioned and I don't know if anyone else noticed but its harder to pump than the M3's because of the shape of the grip. Well, maybe not harder but its certainly easier to slip your grip whilst in a fight. IMHO, go for a TM M3 Benelli Super 90 - if you have the dough that is. If not then by all means take a clone but keep your fingers crossed tightly and hope that you won't

Geez Hispeed don't make the guy ruin his receiver. @azn - sand paper is all you will need mate, p320 or p600 will do fine. Lightly sand all areas mentioned by BFOUR (and the stock pipe a bit too, by all accounts) and try to blend it in as best possible.

I found the internal interchangeability highly lacking on mine, practically no parts from the TM would fit well in the DE - or in the case of the barrel set actually work well once installed (was not feeding well). Shame really, since the DE M1014 do look, as noted above, very good externally.

No, if you look closely the flashlight mount looks larger than the barrel because it is. It uses a diamond style clamp, hence what looks like it could be a barrel step down. My main concern for this project gun is/was two fold. Firstly, would a long barrel and (relatively) low power setup (like TM VSR) work in this case. And secondly, if it does, is the resulting rifle going to be in any way practical for all round FIBUA/Woodland skirmishing.
