  1. Yeah, if anyone saw the footage of the fake hostage situation, that Richard Branson was putting himself through, on the news then they too, like me, may have wondered if the AKs in it were airsoft. The wood on them looked to be faux wood effect like TM but lower quality, and the black finishing of most parts looked to be off too. Did anyone else notice that?
  2. Okay, firstly may I apologise if this has already been suggested and discussed. Secondly, may I outline my suggestion for the sales sections: So what I would like to suggest is some form of thread icon system to flag up all sales threads that need deleting. My idea would involve the same sort of system which allows people to attach a thread/post icon when creating a new thread e.g. a heart or smiley, etc. Here is how I imagine the process would typically pan out: 1. A member creates a new sales thread in the sales section, e.g. the AEG accessories section. 2. As per
  3. I think the 'o' in your name must be for 'o'h my!--> that is a truly wonderful war room, absolutely fantastic guns in there too.
  4. The RPLR is a good option, if just a little pricey. BUT some people, like myself, will want the true MP5 style lower on their G3 because A: the RPLR looks different to it and B: because its the only way to retain the ambidextrous safety of the MP5's.
  5. Well, in the past I did modify one Mp5 lower to a G3, but I dont have pics of that. The one above was just a lock up of the same thing. @navymp28- My old receiver was modified in two main ways: Firstly, cut middle of the receiver and add in a strip of plastic to extend it. Secondly, cut stock slot in rear of receiver above grip. Sorry that I can't provide a full guide, but it was ages back and I dont have any pics of the modifications. To summarise though, I reckon the difficulty was about 5/10, so not very.
  6. No, we are definetly discussing the MC51's. Anyway, here are some pics of my G3 atm. It was going to have a little brother in the form of an MC51 but in the end I decided to get an MP5 as backup, so I guess you could call it a cousin. I am in the process of fitting my main G3 (above) with my CA G3 metal body to get rid of the creaking and then a claw mount and scope too. And, here's I random pic of it mocked up with an MP5 lower, which has spurred me on to get a G&G Reinforced Polymer Lower Receiver, cus IMHO, I think it looks pretty good:
  7. Well no matter what you believe, FR ordnance definetly did produce them, and the SAS/SBS definetly did use them in very limited quantities. We're talking in the hundreds of the amount produced in total. Yes, they did prove pretty unpopular, but having said that their production was pretty much just an experiment, which are frequently unsuccessful in weapons development. @Wai Hoong Chan- It is more likely to be the overall small/compact form of the MC51 which would cause it to be difficult to control than the sliding stocks. There are many fullsize G3's with sliding stocks which perf
  8. I posted this up on the forums earlier then I realised that it was good blog material too, since it is a querky little thing that I am sure other people have also thought about themselves. I know that the Airsoft world and the Gaming world are entirely separate. But I think that since there is an amazing coincidental parallelity between what guns are on CallOfDuty and which models are produced in airsoft (e.g. Stg44/COD5). So perhaps we should all go to them with our ideas. All those airsofters who have mad cravings for a particullar unique, odd and previously unattempted model (in
  9. Wow, thats awesome carbacca. What a great little carbine! I take it that that wasn't all custom built, just the stock and few other bits, right? Presumably its based on something real steel, if so how about a link?
  10. This week's Question: The battle between Ak-elites Vs Arma-guys, what's that all about? Well, this weeks blog goes out to all those newbs who have come across this bitchy phenomenon whilst snooping around on the boards. Basically what we're talking about here is the battle between those airsofters who adore Kalashnikov guns and those who get hard over Armalites. Both these sides are battling out the big question; which is better: AKs or Armalites? In airsoft, as in the real steel world both have their advantages and disadvantages, making a decision between the two hard for most air
  11. Yeah the barrels are indeed a few inches short mate, same as the TM's. I've checked it out and it looks as though you would only need to cut the barrels down half way (5-6 shell length) to get it down to M3 shorty length. P.s. If you cut it all the way back to the front of the grip area (3-4 shell length) then it would be a few inches shorter than an M3 shorty. That may involve cutting the inner barrels though.
  12. Thats an awesome pattern on your gun, I think I've only seen something similar once before, may I ask how that paint effect was created?
  13. I love that fifty bella, it sure came out great in the end. Are you planning on a rear mono pod though?
  14. @ Stealth1911- Wow fella, that AK is one of the best I have seen in a long, long time. Theres just something about that particullar combination that I love (RPK stock and standard 74 front end, mainly). That truly is a great AK, in my eyes. BTW, I can confirm non-biasedly (because I am not in anyway an AK purist, proved by me loving your creation) that its much better looking with the 74 magazines.
  15. Or you switch it to stick batts in top cover and then keep a pistol in the stock, Cz75 or other baddie handgun would be cool
  16. Yes and yes, although the long types may be a very tight if you have your mag pouches adjusted to be tight on your MP5 mags.
  17. If I'd have known you were going to make such a blasphemous creation with that heatshield Heroshark then I never would have sold it to you . I think that the pair of smokeys grips would look absolutely awesome on it however. Oh well, I think I've seen worse, and it was my fault for not realising that you would add it to your striker wannabe . EDIT: I think soon enough someone will bring up the fact that I can barely talk, as I was the one that decided a SPAS would look good with AK mags in it, I mean what on earth was I thinking!
  18. I can't be the only one who hates the fact that an amazingly cool and sophisticated project like this Hammerli build would be so difficult for anybody except Candyman who finds it 'more a bit of fun'. Well done once again to you though Candyman, for the build, and for owning us all.
  19. I think its amazing, well actually the only bit I find amazing is the stock. How on earth did he get that on there? I have already questioned Solscud007 about it personally in a PM, but any further help would be good. Do the UTG clones have a proper shotgun attachment area, is that it? (I mean with out loads of internals jutting out into the stock area). I just can't get my head round it, help!
  20. Well I guess they must be on the way. Make no mistake about it, that was indeed the long barreled TM clone (so yes the tri barreled one) that I saw. I had a proper look at it since I was there, the only noticable difference as everyone has already noted was ofcourse the plastic barrel. It must be AW's test one to see if they'd like to stock them. BTW, I'm so jealous of you Jin because even though we have the same heatshield, you have a better looking shotgun to put it on, darn!
  21. Does anybody know whether the JT3 clone shotties have the same or very similar stock fittings to the TM, as mine could do with a fullstock. Here it is with the pug fugly pistol grip. BTW, I saw the new Benelli M3 Super 90 clone when I was down at AW on the weekend (thats where I got the heatshield from), I had no idea that they had done a long barrelled clone yet, but seeing is believeing I guess. I was very impressed with the overall quality.
  22. Getting a bit touchy there aren't we really, can't we let him off this one time at least he didn't just post a pic of an M4. BTW, nice gun cleaner that silencer is nice with the silver detail, and I can't say i've seen an SR74 before, well done.
  23. @Junior: Custom chop-job by BigAl on the original stock, smoothed off nice and professionally of course.
  24. Oh god, armalites are infecting all areas of the gun world, what ever next? I dread to think EDIT: Dont want to quote pics
