alyaspogi
hey guys anybody here tried putting a real slides top and ambi safety on a WA pistol? will the real ones work on these pistols? anybody? thanks
r.ocelot
I've done it. They both require some fitting, and the ambi safety depends on your grip safety/frame hole, whether it's the thin or the thick kind.
Whitedingo
Real slide stops work with minor filing. Took me maybe 10 minutes to fit mine. Safeties, I haven't tried.
snowman
Can you explain what filing you did as my SVI won't work with the real steel slide stop I have (looks like the bit that engages the mag follower is too big)? Cheers.
HellsAngel
Ditto on the explanation please?...
r.ocelot
Can you explain what filing you did as my SVI won't work with the real steel slide stop I have (looks like the bit that engages the mag follower is too big)? Cheers. I used a Wilson Combat extended slide stop, and I had to reduce the diameter of the pin which goes through the frame. That's all I had to do, everything else went smoothly. snowman
Ah, that's not a problem with the SVI and slide stop I have... Cheers.
r.ocelot
Does it fail to engage the mag follower, or is it oversized that you cannot insert a magazine into it without the slide lock engaging?
Carbine
I have one in my P14.45 as well, and only minor filing was required to make it engage the follower in the mag. I also polished the shaft since the RS part doesn't have a bearing aroudn the shaft like the WA piece does.
snowman
It just wont fire with the slide lock in - Looks like it's interfering with the trigger bar or something. Slide racks just fine. Cheers.
Carbine
Take the slide off the gun and just put the barrel assembly on the frame with the slide lock. Does the barrel assembly pivot freely? Another thing to check out is to make sure the slide lock isn't preventing the mag from locking in the magwell.
