davedawg123
I have the G&P version of this tool. I've used it on the barrel nut but how do I use it to remove the castle nut on the stock tube?

davedawg123
Damn it. But but but... my link says it could fit the extension tube. What a money pit. I suppose then that something like this would work?
uscmCorps
Damn it. But but but... my link says it could fit the extension tube. What a money pit. I suppose then that something like this would work? Depends. Does your castle nut have 4 indents or three? If you have four, you're GTG. If you have three, it'll work, but it won't lock in 100%... but it will still work. The tool you posted in your first post was able to remove buffer tube extensions featured on full length stocks, not carbine stocks. They just weren't very clear about it. MCXL
DPMS makes an AR tool like above that has 1 notch in it instead of 3 uhh THIS ONE I bet you can find it cheaper, but I have one that served me very well.

Sherlock
Screw driver and a light tap tappity tap tap tap from a hammer.
Mishkan
Channel lock pliers and a cloth work as well.
Erik Cartman
Wrap a thick rubber band around the castle nut and try to undo it by hand first. Failing that get a pipe wrench over the rubber band. If you want to invest in the proper combination tool, the King Arms one is the cheapest. Erik.
