AirsoftAddict
Basically i want to shorten an outer barrel and have a 14mm thread put on so i can attach a silencer. The pic shows the barrel in question. I want it cut at the beginning of the brown tape and the thread should be about as far as the brown tape covers. Looking for somebody with a lathes or whether is needed to do this. Ideally somebody in London area or UK.
hwagan
That's a pretty simple job to be honest; Take it to any old local metalworkers/fabricators, ask them very nicely what it'd cost and they'll more than likely be happy to do it. I can't guess at the cost unfortunately.
WhiteHawksan
there's a thread in the projects section, DocV I believe does work like that. He did the same thing on my XM605 and that was beautifully done work.
bankz5152
Ive been planning to do the same to my WE L85 to make it more of a 'carbine' though I realised it was easier to chop the barrel down where it sits in the body rather than choping and re-taping.
renegadecow
Is that an EBR? Bankz is right, on some models it's easier to cut away at the rear end of the barrel. For an M14/EBR all you need is a hacksaw and a drill. But seeing as how your barrel doesn't have threads to begin with, you'd best contact Doc.
PureSilver
Hey - cheers for the PM on Zero In, thought I'd reply here where ZeroOne Stasi aren't looking. Docv400 is the person working on my barrel; this looks to be exactly his sort of thing.
