Found a recent pic of a full rack of S&T Lee-Enfields on Reddit today. After I got to S&T's Facebook page where it originated, I found a video of the SMLE being tested.

Also, they're apparently making a full-size M1887 gas shotgun (Marushin copy, just with bigger bells and whistles):

The cylinder and bolt handle on that thing look like they could be made out of steel... In which case that thing is an instant buy for me.

On a side note, now that I have been a happy owner of a Silverback SRS for a few years, it really bugs me that these classic rifles don't get made with a similar build quality. I'd personally be more than happy with a price tag similar to the SRS, if all the load bearing components would be made out of steel. With the SRS you can just cycle the bolt away with no worries of something breaking. The S&T Kar98k is otherwise good but, as the bolt handle is not steel, it just doesn't inspire the same level of confidence in durability that the SRS does.

It's gas? Darn! I was really hoping for a VSR based springer. In my experience WW2 + gas = PITA.

Nah, I think the Enfield is a springer alright.

Also, Taiwangun should have the new S&T K98k with a better scope mount soon:

Not sure I can see that. The bolt travel is way too short for a springer. It look identical to the short travel on the Nagant, which is gas / CO2. Looks like they've dropped that mech into an SMLE body.

1:13m shows the bolt travel

S&T said it was a springer.
