snowman
This is a comment on the news item on the news page concerning the Tanaka Lugers, notably the 8" HW. Those are some of the best photos I have ever seen of a Tanaka Luger and the best of the new HW Artillery model. If only Parcelforce could have found mine this morning (Not their fault I just tried on the off chance ) However, there's a clear gun which is described as 'probably a prototype', but Tanaka have listed this model (or at least retailers have) for a number of years and it appears to be a production model (although strictly for people interested in the inner workings of airsoft pistols, I suspect!). Cheers.
Longhairedhippy
where can I find this clear luger? it'd be an interesting display piece.

snowman
If anyone is considering buying one of the new Tanaka HW Lugers can I offer some advice. DON'T! Stop wasting your time considering and buy one NOW!!!!! It is, without doubt, the BEST airsoft gun (bar none) I have ever owned. Cheers.
IronWolf
you've got me tempted, what in particular so good about them? can i be expecting a review from you Snowman?
CountDoom
Yea! Review.... NOW >< I would LOVE to have a clear luger on my wall... are they going to do standard non-artillery *rolleyes* versions?
snowman
Yep, review coming. Good points are accuracy, power and sheer loveliness, combined with that fantastic (almost incredible) toggle blowback action! No signs of any leaks from the mags, either. There's a standard length (4.5" barrel?) one as well as the Artillery. Cheers.
Longhairedhippy
i'm facing a moral dilemma. after christmas ("crimbo"?) i'll hopefully have a nice-sized chink of change. the question is, do I want a maruzen 870 gas, a WA .45, or a clear luger?
Catchv22
I love you Snowman!

Razgriz 1
Is it the artillery version or normal 4-inch version you have? I have the 4 inch.....I love it, but it doesnt seem to be the most acurate gun in the world....did u adjust the hopup or anything on yours?
snowman
Mine's the Artillery. Ain't no substitute for inches Cheers.
Utty
Argh, I was hoping the Tanaka Luger HW would be a piece of junk, so I wouldn't have to spend money on it. But now...
Catchv22
I just got my Tanaka Luger. Very nice build so far. The toggle is all metal and the rest of it is solid. I love the gun.
commandercolt
Does that mean its green gas safe since its mostly metal? If so, I think I've found myself a new gun
Catchv22
So far, green gas has shown no damage. The seals are fine and the wear is minimal. For some reason though, my toggle's lock back won't work properly when it cycles the last round. I'll try some 134a to see if that'll solve the problem. A word of caution, when I took apart the magazine to check the condition of the seals and o-rings, the bottom o-ring seal started ripping because it would constantly try to expand into a hole for a pin in the side of the magazine. This caused a small rip in the o-ring, but has not affected sealing with the green gas. The O-ring seems to be very very weak material and rips easily, so be cautious if you ever take apart your magazine.
commandercolt
Alright, thank you very much. If anyone was to see a luger for sell with the wooden type grips on them, let us know, all I can find is the lugers with the black synthetic grips.
snowman
Seems they're only doing them with black grips, BUT they also sell real wood grips separately. They're an easy swap, so just buy one and the wood grips together Cheers.
