Hissing_Sid
this might sound a bit insane and I'm only looking.... I know, for a fact, that it's possible to buy some rather bizarre ex-military vehicles for sensible money. I believe that old Ferret scout cars go for as little as £1000. That being that case, I am trying to persuade a mate that it might be fun to go halves on a tank. Yes I know. Anyway, if anybody knows where, in the UK, I might purchase such a vehicle I'd be interested to hear it. Incidentally, a 2nd-hand Scorpion would be the mutts nuts but I suspect they might be a little too recent to be for sale for sensible money. Oh well! Any web links or whatever would be appreciated. Xaccers
And exactly what driving licence group do you need to be able to trundle down the road in a tank?
Possum
i think you need a hgv for a mbt (main battle tank) and you need to but a yellow flashing light on it.
Longhairedhippy
Isn't there a guy in London that drives a tank around? I saw it on TV, i think.
oikoik
yes, he had a Abbott self-propelled gun [mobile artillery] ..painted yellow.. he was on the news a while back for driving his daughter to school in it or something. someone else has a pink T-34 in central london.. i think, for vehicles [alot] lighter than tanks you can use a rally or vintage/special vehicle licence/paperwork. i think, also for tanks or any tracked vehicle, you need to have rubberised tracks otherwise its not allowed on the roads.
