Gas charges

I've owned three gas guns so far, but I really don't know how long I should charge my guns. I put an o-ring on the charging valve to conserve gas, btw.

Now since thats done with, as to your question I think the general rule of thumb is 3-4 seconds and no more than 5 seconds. Although if you listen as you charge you can sort of hear and feel your mag being charged up and should know when to stop just by "feeling" at least thats how it is with me and Ive owned over a dozen gas guns

Doesn't happen on all guns i don't think.

 

I remember my old glock 19, i used to fill for over 30 seconds, before i realised i didn't have the angle of the can right and it was going everywhere... ah n00b days

Yer i'd say 3-4 seconds or until the gas splills out, also does anyone else find that after accidentally inhaling gas you sometimes feel light headed or get quite a bad headache.

I fill my KWA USP mag for about 5-6 seconds, any more than that and I don't think there will be enough room for the gas to expand=blown mag.

3-4 seconds is fine, unless it's a long mag as fitted to guns like the M3A1 Hudson Grease Gun which takes a few seconds more.

Some of my pistol fill without a pill, so I tend to time them for 4 seconds.

If you overcharge by 10 or so seconds could you badly damage the mag?
