TheLair
I was thinking about getting a metal kit, but the price is a bit too much for me at the moment. I was going to just get the MEU slide from UNco, but at a later time I would get a metal frame for it. Is the metal frame just a big waste of money? If I already have a slide? Or if I can manage to get the money should I go for the full kit? Right now I am considering selling my KSC Glock 19 and the stuff that I have for it for ~$200. So what should I do with the $200? TheLair
Would this kit fit the Early version with the military sights? http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?i...SCW2DG_srch_meu
phoenix360mute
for that kit, i would check the trades in the pic to the ones on your gun, because its hard to tell otherwise and the only benifit with a metal frame is the fact that it "feels" like metal, as in, cold to the touch on a cold day, blisteringly hot on a hot day ect, but if you want, it also gives you the possibility of using MUCH more higher pressure gasses (eg red gas) with out the ye ol problem of a slide to the face
hitmanNo2
That kit won't work with the early version at it uses Novak sights and the early version uses the sights you mentioned. Also the holes in the blowback chamber will differ for attatching the sights. I don't get why your asking about an early version, but linking to the late kit?
phoenix360mute
i think its cus it doesnt state early or late meu version, and i should have noticed the sight cuts myself actually lol
n00b3r
Also the holes in the blowback chamber will differ for attatching the sights. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's only with Magna blowbacks.
hitmanNo2
So do all SCW blow back chambers have no holes in? I can't say I noticed when I put together my Prime MEU, but I have a blowback chamber in front of me from an SCW Wilson and that has no holes (combat fixed sights).
TheLair
Then could someone link me to a kit for the early version? I cant seem to find one.
hitmanNo2
Heres one And do a search for MEU on UNcompany, theres one there
TheLair
Thanks. Are they a reputable company? Ive never ordered from them before.
hitmanNo2
I've never used them, nearly did. They are very quick to respond to e-mails. I believe hardboiledcop got his wooden kit for his M1100 from them and was impressed with their service.
TheLair
Found the one on UNco. http://www.uncompany.com/pageproductdetails.asp?prodid=5877 Any preferance between companies? It seems that UN is cheaper, but they may jack up the shipping, and the other company not. I guess it really depends on who really has it in stock. Sometimes UN doesnt update their inventory until someone tries to buy that something.
phoenix360mute
well, get a quote from both to find out about the shipping
n00b3r
Semi-project update: It was a *badgeress* to get the hammer pin working properly...
ruchik
that company you mentioned, tokyo model, is a very reputable company to deal with. i bought my wilson combat CQB from them, and the limited edition nonetheless, when i could not find it anywhere else. shipping was quick, and they answer emails FAST. sometimes i would get a reply to an email the same day i sent it! 1cem4n
is it the MARSOC or the MEUSOC? and if it is the MARSOC, should i build one up from TM or just go with the Western Arms version?
Lithium Jack
?! It even says in the title it's the MEU(SOC) pistol... The Kimber ICQB MARSOC is Western Arms, as is the MEU(SOC), and you wouldn't be able to build either of them from a TM.
phoenix360mute
and it doesnt look like there are any plans to realese different kind of 1911's or metal kits for the TM, so your only option is WA for the time being
