-Angel-
With the varying laws are regulations across the EU, how does a unified 'European Airsoft Association' plan to operate?
SlickAxe
Sure, Good question. We will dedicate soon how the EAA board will be formed and which organisations perticipate. Wat our goals are, and how to achive them etc. etc. One thing is sure, we all share the love for the same airsoft sport. With the varying laws are regulations across the EU, how does a unified 'European Airsoft Association' plan to operate?
-Angel-
What are your goals? Is there a specific reason or purpose for association of this nature?
SlickAxe
Will be stated the website ones goals and targets are set and approved by all participating associations. We are still establishing the EAA.
Andrew March
I think it would have been better to wait until you at least have a defined mission statement before you posted this
Spedz
Nice to see thought there is something is in the works. But how are each of the individuals going to be represented?
L4byr1nth
Are we allowed to keep the Pound Sterling if we join? Ben.
Andrew March
Are we allowed to keep the Pound Sterling if we join? Ben. Yes, but your cucumbers must meet EAA curve standards

SlickAxe
@andrew, this was just to let everybody know there is something in the works... Like Spedz said.
SlickAxe
Btw guys, i am aware of the UKARA in the UK. However that's a retailer organization. Is there also a player's association in the UK?
-Angel-
Nope. Every so often someone will pop up on a forum and rant on about starting one, then nothing happens. Mainly because there isn't much point. Other than sitting around agreeing we all like airsoft, what is there for an association to do?
NeoVeNoM
Nope. Every so often someone will pop up on a forum and rant on about starting one, then nothing happens. Mainly because there isn't much point. Other than sitting around agreeing we all like airsoft, what is there for an association to do? We in Belgium have a national association that players can join. Why? because too many nutcases want to take away our hobby. That's the simple version. Nutcases; as in, politicians, "mums against guns"-things, immoral players, immoral skirm organisers etc... . But the NABV is different, they don't accept membership of dutch players. And Airsoftguns are illegal in the netherlands. Luckily for the dutch players, they can come to us. Many dutch players also joined our national organisation. The reason NABV started this organisation on a european level, is simple. If Europe agrees in one front, we wil be able to play airsoft in our own country. Thah's what they are thinking.
Spedz
AH! So really it's a case of if we do _____ we can make the Dutch go away? Joking aside I'd like to see how well this goes, I mean I do want it to 'succeed' but I fear there maybe a lot of bickering ahead. |:
L4byr1nth
Do we have to measure our guns in m/s instead of FPS? Seriously though, will joining it have any benifits for players here, or will we start having to conform to unified rules, etc? Ben.
-Angel-
A european association would have no sway or power to change a single countries legislation. Even within a single country, if a government wants airsoft stopped, it stops regardless of the few thousand people who disagree. Aside from that, what do any of the existing associations actually 'do'? They have no more sway than the average citizen. Its all well and good saying "We're protecting airsoft" but... how?
