Can somebody post all the relavent mIRC gubbins for the darkmyst IRC room? I normally connect via the Java applet but that seems to have snuffed it for some reason. FWIW, all I get is the following message when the Java window opens:- "Startup error: Java.lang.Error: Unable to load interface pixx: JavaLangClassNotFoundException: irc.gui.pixx.Interface" At a wild stab, I'm guessing something's up with the Arnies cartoon which is a background in the Java window? OTOH, my PC told me it needed to update my J2SE stuff a few days ago so maybe that's the problem? I've been using

I have a cunning plan to buy a cheapo saber, remove the telescopic blade and then make a tiny base to fix it to. The idea being that an LED polycarbonate blade and the collapsible cheapo blade will attach via the same coupling. That way I figure I can use the pukka blade for showing off and I can carry the telescopic blade easily for use attacking people in the SZ at a skirmish.

Why? Does it light up and make cool noises?

Interesting reviews. I could do with as much info as you can give about the sound effects. Also, if you can take one to bits I'd appreciate a shot of the circuitry alongside something like a box of matches to give a sense of sale. I'm in the process of building a lightsaber of my own. Mrs Sid is getting me a Glaflex flashgun for christmas. After all, a Jedi should build his own lightsaber. I plan to build the circuitry out of a commercial saber into mine. If it's quiet I thought I'd also try to fit the guts out of a karaoke microphone into it as well and transmit the sounds

I gotta say, the site is stilll VERY, VERY slow and 50% of the time, when refreshing, I just get a "page not found" error. I know we aren't compelled to make any contribution to the site but it's f**king annoying to spend half an hour fully answering somebody's question, finding links for them, making pictures etc, and then finding that the freaking post doesn't go up. Obviously, it's possible to copy and paste the post onto a clipboard before clicking "add reply" but it's rather half-assed and frustrating.

That might, possibly, make you consider if what you post will affect a majority of people. Personally, speaking as somebody who has never received masses of rep points for posting links to videos, jokes, guides or promising to post videos of my missus in return for rep points, I am pretty sure that almost every +ve rep point I've earned is by way of thanks from an individual who I've helped in some way. Sometimes when I enter a post the IE progress bar crawls forward at an incredibly slow pace. Sometimes only making one or 2 blocks progress. So, it occured to me to open a new Arnies window and I can see, in the new window, that my post is already up even though, according to the window I originally posted in, it's still being entered. Hope you follow what I mean.

Once you guys have decided what you're gonna do you might want to sort out the Java IRC applet so it connects to whatever channel you're using. Or, if the Darkmyst channel is a permenant back-up, why not just add a seperate Applet to link to that as well?

At least he gave it a sensible name, rather than calling it "Azeroth; Crusher of galaxies" or something.

Regarding the issue of "BB shards", I don't think a BB would ever break when hitting the mask. There's a slight chance one might break right next to you and a shard get through the mask. I suppose the odds of this happening might increase if you're the sort of person who spends a lot of their time with their head poked around a corner or summat. TBH, the only major downfall of mesh masks is the "other stuff" which they let in. Dust, dirt, water, pollen, etc. It can all get through the mesh. If you have sensitive eyes (I do) then proper goggles will give you more comfort that mesh ones

I can't believe you're still posting pictures of it after you sold it.

I hope things aren't supposed to be "fixed" at the moment. I found that the server was slow before but it's awful now. Whenever you open a new page you get a blank screen for long enough to make you think you're gonna get a "404" error message and then it seems to kick into life and load up in a flash. Don't mean to sound like I'm harrasing anybody. Just reporting the facts as I see em. :-)

Somebody show me a picture of a gun which has $1000 spent on it rather than bolted to it. For me, a "$1000 gun" isn't a marui M4 with an Elcan bolted to it along with a Surefire and a PEQ box.
