  1. 'Next-day delivery' as you see it on most online retail shops is next WORKING day from the date of POSTAGE. Note the two words in caps there. Saturday deliveries aren't offered by all retailers, and when they are, you usually have to pay extra for them. Obviously, the postage company can't rush your package to you if your retailer hasn't even been bothered to package and send it yet. Ben.
  2. I think we should keep the rep system, to be honest, but maybe with a small change? Instead of just clicking + or - next to someones post (as some people might not be aware that it actually affects your profile reputation as well as just the post), it should be mandatory to give a reason for awarding a rep point - a bit like the Warn system? Ben.
  3. What kind of lube have you tried? Silicone spray doesn't help much in my SCAR (I have this problem). Silicone grease works better for me. Ben.
  4. Double post, but meh... No news is good news! Finally got around to looking at my bolt catch problem. It's a common niggle on these guns that the bolt catch doesn't positively engage 100% of the time. EvilDan suggested heating the bolt catch and bending it, as it's made of steel. Unfortunately, I don't really have access to the right gear for the job here at home. Fixed mine perfectly by making a small metal shim. There is now no play at all in the bolt catch, and it engages 100% of the time. It's a bit of an Art Attack solution, but bear with me. TOOLS REQUIRED: 1 x empty
  5. Ok, well, you show us a better M14, PDW, or SCAR currently on the GBBR market, and we can compare notes. Ben.
  6. Seriously, what did that even mean? The mags don't explode! I use mine in the summer all the time, leave them in the car accidentally, they're fine. I did read that when the WE M4 was released, there was a problem with the mags. Then they brought out the new V2 M4 mags, and I haven't heard anything bad since. They also seemed to fixed the leaks - I have 5 here that have never leaked since the day I bought them. Can anyone who doesn't own a WE/WA fanboys refrain from posting unless genuinely interested in buying one of these rifles, to lessen the spam? I'm finding it hard to bro
  7. Ahhh right, I was just talking generally, but all sites in the UK chrono with 0.20g, as far as I'm aware, as do most in the world (or so I thought!). Some of those chrono rules sound ridiculous! As for this M14, I'd buy one immediately if it wasn't so heavy. I think I'll have to wait and see one in the flesh, to be honest. Ben.
  8. Skirmish limits are set with 0.20g's. If you're chronoing with anything other than that in order to get out on the field and skirmish, it's cheating in the form of evading the chrono. Of course, if you're chronoing just to see what your gun is doing, or you're doing it at home, then fair enough, use what you want. Also, if you're intentionally under the limit in order to use 0.30g's, then it's alright (as long as you chrono with 0.20g's so we can see what the gun is actually doing). As for the other comment, I corrected your mistakes. I think you'll find I'm the least patriotic person
  9. Fixed. I think you should stop now. My post was 100% correct, free of contradiction, and to the point. Yours are just hot air. I'm not going to go off-topic any further on this though (Although I think you'll find 'Math' is American-English...). Through my experience, fliers on a GBBR can be down to the loading action chipping the BB, not just hop or air seal issues. Anyone know when the M21/M14 DMR version is due out? Ben.
  10. These aren't AEG's. Consistency issues are common, and periodic tightening of the screws are required during regular maintenance to prevent issues due to the mechanic vibration of the gun. I always check the main screws of my SCAR whilst lubricating it before each game. Also, I don't think anyone should skirmish one without an NPAS to control the FPS. Ben.
  11. Why is English so difficult for you? He didn't say the rifle was doing 500 FPS with a 0.28g BB. He said that he was shooting 0.28g BB's from an M14 firing at 500 FPS. This could obviously mean either. Logic dictates that danielsilva, being an experienced airsofter and forum member, would chrono the rifle with a 0.20g BB. However, the laws in his country, I think I'm right in saying, allow for higher FPS limits, so it might not have been a problem for him. And it's 'Mathematics' or 'Maths', not 'Math'. Ben. EDIT:: He got there first, but you get the gist.
  12. FPS is always measured with a 0.20g, or it's cheating. Ben.
  13. Triple post. Just replaced the tremelo block in my number one strat. The original was a poor quality pot-metal alloy, probably with lead shavings to make it heavier. Guy on eBay machined me a great quality one out of steel. He can do pretty much any block (I sent him mine to replicate), and all for less than £30.00 including postage! First unplugged impressions - a nice increase in sustain. The guitar isn't really louder (acoustically - it was loud anyway for an electric), but the notes seem more defined, and much clearer. A great way to make a basswood or alder bodied ele
  14. Got a picture of it? Ben.
  15. Certain sites and events here in the UK limit round counts - it makes it more realistic, and also prevents the game turning into a spray-fest. It's honour-based of course, like everything in Airsoft. I'm talking a game day, not just a game. It all depends on how you play, and I was a sniper for a few years. As for people not taking their hits, play at a better site? A double-tap is normally enough for me, but if they're close, one shot usually does the trick. I use 0.30g's, which obviously retain their energy longer, the end result being they hurt more I suppose. Back On Topic: I
  16. I believe you partially strip the magazine, and change the follower spring for a longer/shorter one, depending on whether you want 20 or 30 round capacity. I think it was the Evike video review on YouTube that mentioned this. This being true, it's completely reversible, and you could probably change a mag between capacities in about 2 or 3 minutes. Who uses a GBBR on full-auto?! I have 5 mags for my SCAR, making it 150 rounds, and don't go through them all in a game day usually - semi-auto all the way. P226 with two 30 round mags just incase on my hip as well; that's 210 rounds tops -
  17. It's my understanding that the magazine can be either 20 or 30 round capacity, depending on the installed spring. If this is the case, then it can keep up with any GBBR out there. Also, I'd like to see test results with green gas and 0.30g BB's. Ben.
  18. Like other WE rifles, to get the best out of it, use green gas and AT LEAST 0.28's. I use 0.30's, and they're fine, even at quite a low FPS achieved with the NPAS. This looks like a great rifle - still decided whether to pick one up or not. Ben.
  19. Our first rat, Rocky, had a little swing hammock like that - he loved it to bits, was always in it. He wouldn't wear a harness though. Used to be content with just sitting on your shoulder. Ben.
  20. Sorry, wrong link. I don't really know, but short of winning the lottery, it HAS to be reasonably cheap, or at least good value for money. Congrats on the D5000 ShortStack. Ben.
  21. It seems if you want F2.8 or better, you have to pay through the nose for it. The Sigma one is this, right? http://www.parkcameras.com/9126/Tamron-AF-70-200mm-F-2-8-Di-LD--IF--Macro--Nikon-Fit-.html Internet research suggests the 70-300 Nikkor is under-rated and pretty good, but who trusts the internet these days. Might take a trip to Park Cameras next week and handle both. The 300mm will come in very useful for airshows over the 200mm, but who knows? I originally went in to Park Cameras for a Pentax K-X, and came out with a Nikon D5000 Ben.
  22. I'd actually prefer a wider focal range to be honest - I don't get a lot of time for photography nowadays, and I won't be doing much specialist stuff that might require a dedicated lens. Also, my budget at the moment won't allow for a variety of different lenses, so something that's more flexible is ideal for me - I don't necessarily need the very best quality. The more reviews I read about it, the more I'm leaning towards the apparently under-rated Nikon AF-S VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF ED. Looks exactly what I was after, but I just need to make sure it'll auto focus with the D500
  23. Looking at this at the moment, even though it costs as much as the DSLR - http://www.parkcameras.com/6676/Tokina-AT-X-80-400mm-f4-5-5-6-D--Nikon-AF-.html Will it autofocus with my camera? I know some lenses don't. Ben. EDIT: Damn, no it won't. It's a shame, because it's just on the edge of my comfortable budget for a new lens. There's always this - but not sure if it's the right thing? Seems pretty cheap to me: http://www.parkcameras.com/4830/Nikon-AF-S-VR-70-300mm-f-4-5-5-6G-IF-ED.html
  24. I've had four so far. My last girl, Rukia, had almost exactly the same colouring as Eko, though the champagne streaks in her coat were slightly more blended with the cream - you might find that happens to Eko with age, though. For what it's worth, none of my ratties have ever bitten anyone - even when taking food offered by hand. Ben.
