if you want a cheaper M-16A2 carbine front set you can try to source a CA M15A2 carbine front. like this one I have. It came with the fatter M4 style hand guards but you can source the thinner carbine type easily in the US

I emailed G&P about a month ago asking if they had any plans to release the SR16URX front sets and the answer was no......darn it...I really like 11.5" barrel version, and was hoping to use one with a VFC sr16 body

I think you should replace the front sight with a low profile gas block+folding sight on the rail or the KAC type folding front sight/gas block combo......

You might want to check ebay or ar15.com's sales section for the "batech"(actually it is matech) BUIS, I got my real steel one off of ebay for $30. Also I've seen some US soldiers have the KAC 300m folding sight on their M4A1 instead, the airsoft copies are all cheaper than the KA batech.

Question, how are the front sight assembly and gas chamber attached on this? I take it front sight is pinned (unlike marui style with screw?), and the gas chamber is attached with set screw to the barrel? I want to use a real steel AKM front sight assembly and AKM gas chamber to get a Khyber pass AKM with side folding stock.

A&K S-System used to look like this (was my first aeg mod and gearbox upgrade attempt) Now v2 (I gave up on the King Arms G27 grip, it just never fit right on the CA lower for me) Also, few pages back people were interested in fitting 11.1v lipo in the stock tube. I just got one and took some pics. At any rate, you can't collapse the stock fully unless you modify the innards of the stock tube. I decided that I can live with only being able to collapse to the 2nd to last position; and then cover it with a recoil pad. Attached are pictures showing the lipo in A&K

That's because G&P's dustcover used on the SR-25k URX has a real steel style locker pin assembly, which is of course too thick to fit an airsoft body with the gearbox present...so it's meant to be permanently in the open position

I have both 6mm and 7mm CA gearboxes and they fit my guarder new gen M4A1 Colt body fine.

It's one of those modified chicoms manufactured by China for foreign consumption, I added the fastex buckles. *edit, it fits x6 AK74 5.45mm mags (a bit tight) or x3 AK47 7.62mm mags
